I don't see why they wouldn't. After all, the immense heat from the blast would cause a massive concussive wave and send shrapnel flying everywhere, plus melting anything in the vicinity.

We're running more on fluff than hard rules in this one, so yup, they'd have an effect.

Well, melta-bombs can't be used as grenades (presumably because they're heavy), and can't be clamped to people... but I don't imagine that standing by a door with a meltabomb going off on the other side would be very healthy. It's probably a shaped-charge weapon, so all the energy would be directed right at you...

After you're finished with these... creatures, I think I'll join in the carnage.

btw, with regard to force strength: there's a platoon of Stormtroopers on the ship, minus one squad (which got kind of shredded in the Docking Bay).

Alpha Level Psykers... Page 125, 40K rulebook, 4th ed.

"Alpha-level psykers can turn a man inside out with a glance. A mere flick of a wrist can snap a Battle Titan in two, or a muttered syllable turn an army upon itself in a frenzy of bloodlust."
Ask and NL delivers. <Vader voice> You have forseen it as always, my Master.<Vader voice>

That was more precise than I was hoping for. (Don't own the 4th ed BTW, so at least it was ignorance, not stupidity. Eserharden was bad ass in Malleus, but not quite that badass.)

I'm back. What do you want me to handle?

OKAY, quick retcon. Typhonis, Prius and Pater were off trying to find, well, actually, they were looking for Nathan and/or Jolan, and were nowhere near the enginarium.

However, there was that third squad of CSMs out hunting inquisitor, so that's who you rescued our prodigal sons from. But that's not near the enginarium, and don't expect the rest of the CSMs to go down so easy. *grins* They's some evil bastiches, y'see.

Exellent. BTW is Pater packing a Force Staff or a Force Rod? Pcm, you refer to both in your posts.

A question was asked about the Ramiles class Starfort earlier and I will answer it: It is sick, sick, sick. It can chew up a whole squadron of cruisers.

Well, being as how it's not showing an interest in shooting at the strike cruiser right now, it's moot point.

In fact, one really has to wonder what that pesky little strike cruiser is up to...

But I guess that'll be up to NL. We've got a station to shoot up... er... save.

Are there any BFG stats for it anywhere?

Yes, I think NecronLord posted a link on one of the earlier pages. It is freaking vile. It counts as five different attached stations north, south, east, west and center. That's how huge it is. All of sections have their own arnament and the center has a mass of torpedo spires launchable in any direction.

Okay, status update. We've got three squads moving in... first squad is closing in on the CinC, and just blew the doors out in front of Xerxes arbites, second squad is at the enginarium in front of Adivan's scratch defense force, and is in the process of melting multiple breaches in the walls around it, while the final squad just took it in the teeth from Nathan's initial salvo, and is loitering outside the machine shop getting ready for some righteous revenge. Pcm, you want to introduce some psyker nastiness in this on behalf of the CSMs?

Kang and Kodos laughter in unison now... three... two... one...

Additional plot point... if Tycho is out for the night, we'll assume his team gets pushed back with heavy casualties, blows a lot of shit up, and the Chaos boys do take the command center.

"Warpbubble implosion. The Ramilies is drawn into the warp by an instantaneous collapse of its warp bubble generator. Resolve four lance shots at every ship within 4D6cm. Then replace the Ramilies with a Warp Rift as detailed on p45 of the Battlelfleet Gothic rulebook. All ordnance and ships on the table top are then drawn 15cm towards the Rift immediately and if moved into it will be affected is noted in the celestial phenomena rules."

Oh oh, that gives me very nasty ideas...

Not to mention that, in the case of the Enginarium, they're attacking a full platoon of Stormtroopers, roughly a third of whom have plasma or melta weapons, through necessarily small holes in the walls.

Things to bear in mind... these are fluffy marines, which means they are more powerful than they are in the game. They're very smart, and they have more battle experience than anybody else on the station. They can be tricked and worked around, or overpowered in such cases as TK, but they are very unlikely to be very startled, or engage in situations that put them at a disadvantage. (After all, they're not the slavish adherents of the Codex Astartes)
