Axis Kast wrote:Yeah; as much as I'm ready to defend Bush strategies, I cannot condone Rumsfeld's blatant mismanagement of Iraq.

It's one thing to make mistakes - which the Bush administration did -, and it's another to compound them with a refusal to adapt to changing situations down the road.

Granted, Rumsfeld was on the spot - and he's right: you go to war with the army you have. But he's had more than enough time to ship over M-113s. And he just hasn't done it.
You do go to war with what you immediatly have at your disposal. But refusing to adapt to changing situations is unforgivable.

Hmm Axis and I agree, maybe I better go to the Doctor. :)

This wasn't a matter of what was at their disposal. At the latest, Numbnuts decided to attack Iraq on Sept 12, 2001. So even by his own bullshit timetables (which he could have changed any time he wanted), he had about a year and a half to get his shit together. He didn't because he and the dumbfucks who work for him were oh so sure that not only would the war and occupation be cakewalks, but that they could "make a left turn" and whack Syria, too.

He went off half-cocked, as anyone who saw those Marines in their GREEN uniforms fighting in the desert noticed. But look on the bright side: At least gays can't get married, and that's what is really important.

Now, now, if he had beefed up the military before the invasion it would have indicated to Saddam that an invasion was forthcoming.
