This could have been a tactic, of course, a means of hiding the corruption in a veneer of honesty. Such tricks are not unheard of.

Then, he dropped to one knee as Niner shot the Abbot through the head. He pulled his hidden Lasgun out of it's holster and used the man's body as a shield as he picked off the guards one by one.

And again the dangers of friendship are revealed. The fact that Nathan knew one of the... one of the greatest traitors the human race has ever known is disturbing. To know that he once considered such a creature a friend is likewise unpleasant.

The frater militia had expected to whip itself into a frenzy before the fight started. The were caught momentarily off guard with blood results. A few more moments to recover their cohesion, which they paid for in blood. And then the chain weapons began to roar and the flamers vomited burning death into the room.

Pater simply redirected the flames back at their originators, causing much hilarity, screaming, and cooking smells.

Gork and Mork didn't quite know what to make of this.

Uschi smiled. "Certainly." Reaching into her pocket, she produced a vox. Rattling off the time and location, she also slipped in a couple of innocuous code phrases, informing the crew to come in well armed and prepared for anything.

Any time they try to change the deal, you smile and act accomodating while you reach for your gun.

"I was really looking foreward to enjoying you, but alas that is not to be." As he spoke the dark glow of a refractor field eveloped him as the door opened. "Your flesh will serve as the vehicle to one of higher forms. The recent events require us to leave planet rather quickly."

The door opened and armoured men with supression shields and shock mauls entered. "Take them alive," Mekel ordered.

The militia members screamed as their own blessed flames came back to roast their flesh. Their leader dead, casualties mounting, and the blessed fire being turned back against them was enough to break their will. They retreated in panic.

As the front wave of militia were roasted, Pater fell back. "Show me what you can do." He said to Gork and Mork. They looked a bit unsure, until Gork got winged by a bullet. Then they tore into the front ranks of militia, bodies flying everywhere.

Lithe as a cat, Synnove turned, three microgrenades bouncing across the floor toward the men. Two frag, one smoke. "GO!" she shouted, her other hand drawing a bolt pistol from the jacket, which she sighted in on Mekel, snapping off a quick three-shot burst dead center on his head... or his head as protected by the field, anyway.

Uschi climbed over the back of the seat and landed on the other side, ducking as she hit the panic button on her vox. All activities suspended, crew needs extraction.

Eat that, you sick freak. You may get us, but you won't get your product.

Pater got Gork and Mork to herd the militia out of the ship, where he activated the weapons batteries and fried the rest.

Great, now he'd have to fill out a load of forms. He needed an apprentice to do that shit.

He turned to Sgt. Slate. "Sergeant, I need your boys to take a look at the ship's security system; We didn't get a single fragging warning." He turned to Niner, Gork and Mork. "You're all hired, by the way."

Investigation would show that boarding was accomplished by approaching to close range using ecclesiarchical authority and then beating the guards to pulp.

Mekel fell over, his tongue lolling. The frag grenades drove the guards back, but did not seriously injure them. The smoke grenade obscured vision and caused them to hesitate. It gave the trader's time, precious time. But the guards were between them and the only door.

Uschi drew her bolt pistol, lining up and dropping the waitress, then the bartender.

If they set you up, everyone in the vicinity is in on it. Drop anything that's moving that isn't wearing your own colors, if it's stupid enough to be standing where you can hit it.

Synnove took advantage of the confusion caused by the grenades to drive forward, bolt pistol hammering away in three shot bursts, as she tried to clear an avenue for Uschi to get out of the damned bar.

Prius listened to Nathan's speech, thinking that it sounded somewhat familiar. It bouyed his spirit to know that his feelings were truly in agreement with those of the spirit of the Crusade.

Gix listened to Nathan's impassioned speech. He made good points, but he was seeming to try to push to the side the actually matter at hand and his emotional involvement with Commodore Novadlorian. The irony of this thought did not escape Jolan and he supressed it with effort.

The waitress and the bartender were splattered all over the dark room by Uschi's bolts. Synnove's bolt pistol tore apart and supression shield and then the trooper behind it, blowing open his ribcage. Another closed, swinging his shock maul at her head.

Synnove employed the oldest method in hand to hand combat of avoid an attack... she dropped backwards onto her ass, firing a burst into the man's stomach, then kicked the floor to begin a pivot, hand reaching into her pocket for yet another nasty surprise as she spun up to one knee.

Uschi's bolter jammed, and she snarled as she worked to clear it. Of all the damn times...

Damnation, he couldn't even make the sign of the aquila with his arm missing. He offered a quick mental prayer, asking the Emperor to forgive his incapacity at this time.

Nathan composed himself and looked at Gix "Well Bother Inquisitor is there anything else I may help you with? Other than ranting like a madman about how things should be changed?"
