Love those! Can I host them on my always under construction website?

I just had an idea: How about the Defiant playing tag with the Millennium Falcon in an asteroid field?

You may stick those photos wherever it gives you the most pleasure Lord Poe, and the idea of it flapping around in the asteroid field might well make a cracking animation. I'd need to figure out how to make a convincingly crowded asteroid field without crashing my PC, but it could certainly be done....

:? Aren't there any better models of an ISD out there?

Also, I think the lighting's a bit strong.

There are currently no better models readily available, although one is being built at an insane level of detail by a dedicated hermit. If he'll release it or sell it is another matter entirely. The lighting was just reused quickly, the setup was made for a different type of animation entirely. If I actually go with this idea I'll do it a little better than this.

One idea I got over at the Trek board was to have the Falcon being chased by the Defiant through an asteroid field, which might be an interesting way to go...

I doubt you can hook up with fractalsponge's model without showing him some prior work (and especially when you're showing pictures without credits here!), but it's worth a shot. You'll need to improve your lighting rig before he'll let his model in there, though.

I have no wish for another model of the SD, the one I have is great, and if you know who made it please let me know and I'll stick credits on the finished products I may make with it. I modified it myself from one that was given to me in 3 parts and required a fair bit of work in fixing single point polys, orphan points, missing textures, etc. I suspect from the way it was built it was originally a 3ds model, but I dont know that for sure.

I would not go cap in hand asking someone for a model, they will either release it or they wont, and begging will just make matters worse. I release all my models, good or bad, since I want people to benefit from my work, but I'm sure with such a labor of love he'd be fully justified in charging for it at somewhere like Turbosquid.

The ship in Firefly

Serenity

It's a large pic but has some okay detail to it.

Hmmm, can do. I have a DS-9 model and there's a beautiful Serenity model at the main Lightwave board I frequent. I'll see what I can do...

Hi honey. Guess what I did at work today? I wore a bomb. A nuclear bomb in a field of flowers. I could get lucky. Tomorrow I could have a bigger bomb. I could kill more people. Maybe they'll be innocent people. Children, maybe. - John Crichton

Pilot: Is something wrong, Crichton?
John: It's that damn Peacekeeper bitch. She's barricaded herself in command. I think she's trying to take over the ship.
Pilot: I'm aware of her actions.
John: Shut it down. Lights, power, all of it.
Pilot: I'm sorry, John. I can not do that.

My testes have doubled their efforts at the thought.

Ew. I don't know where that came from. Still, kick ass.
