Coming up once I finish reading the last few posts...
"The bird let out a slow chicken cackle. It sounded like a chicken, but in her heart she knew it wasn't. In that instant, she completely understood the concept of a chicken that was not a chicken. This looked like a chicken, like most of the Mud People's chickens. But this was no chicken.

Quick question... 'there is no fate but what we make' and all, but should either or both vessels smack into the star fort at high speed, what do ya'll think will happen? Anything that hits that monstrosity will be a write-off, of course, but the station itself... think it could survive that kind of impact?

The Ramiles class dwarfs a battleship. It counts as five seperate sections in BFG(all other ships and stations count as just one AFAIK). Getting rammed by an escort class vessel will damage one section.

And very lightly at that. This may be an archaeotech escort, but all that means is that it has an outside chance of damaging the fort due to a higher speed and possibly a reactor overload. A standard escort ramming that station would do precisely fuck all, even with the station powered down.Imperial Overlord wrote:The Ramiles class dwarfs a battleship. Since its fighting to get out of orbit and dragging Pater's ship as well, it is going to do even less damage, even if it has an armoured prow. It might breach the hull and kill hundreds, but compared to how massive the Ramiles is, it won't do much.

Okay, back.
Well damn, the menace is much less menacing than I hoped. I had figured on the lack of velocity due to escaping the gravity well, but I had assumed that a high speed collision would be a highly unpleasant and/or threatening event for the station.
More threatening that 'Oops, five hundred dead in G-ring.' anyway.
Oh well, live and learn.

I suspect that both me and the Tacticus have the advantage of being familiar with BFG. To Pcm the station might seem merely large, but to someone familiar with BFG knows the station to be a gigantic powerhouse. The sheer size is awesome.

Yes, there's damage but we don't know that either one is dead. The PsyKing is damn strong. Gix wants to make sure he's dead.
