Ow.

I used to play the game as a stress reliever... there's one map where you can hold off on winning and just set up long kill zones that cover the entry points. I'd sit there with triple cover on the entry points and zap genestealers until I racked up a thousand kills or so.

"Yay! A thousand down! Twenty-five thousand more to go!"

The Hrud have never been directly depicted, only mentioned in passing. It is known that they wear rebreather masks of some sort and are extremely small. There's a big debate as to whether or not they're starfaring skaven... some people like the idea, some hate it. So far as I know, GW is not going to release a Codex for them anytime soon, so they're mostly just background fluff.

Myself, I lean toward the space skaven idea, but then I've always been fond of the skaven for bailing our asses out in this game of Man O'War that we played...

Hail hail, gang's all here, except for YB.

(And Pcm, who's transiting to the land of fun and fog and will soon be contending with entirely different time zone issues... won't that be a hoot.)

Snow's mostly melted off, still dropping below freezing after dark. Snow coming down in the Rio Grande Valley for the first time in a hundred and nine years. (Though they did have some very light flurries back in '97, but this is the first time it's really hit the ground in chunks.)

Probably a bit colder down here than up in the pastoral Pacific Northwest. I was talking to my son a couple of nights ago and he was terribly amused that it's snowing over here and all comfy temperate at Ft. Lewis.

How are things on the Vancouver side of the line?

Oh, we have to work on the language coaching. It's pronounced with a bit more drag on the 'ow' portion of 'howdy'. Kinda like 'hooowdy, yaaaaaa'll.' :D

Wish I was actually down in the Rio Valley to see how crazy they're going there. When the temperature hits sixty, they all freak and grab their parkas out of storage.

I had heard something about that, but it isn't the same as hearing what's going on from a native.

Vancouver has the benefits of being a coastal city, so the temperature is a bit more mellow than inland. It was cold today, but it is December. 7 Degrees Celsius when I headed home from my parent's house this evening.

Yeah, I lived up in Olympia for a short while, so I have a general idea of the climate.

Does Vancouver have the same general climate as Seattle? The two seasons- rain and not as much rain. :)

Yeah, I have a friend who used to live over in Victoria and used to bask in the relatively moderate climate.

Then his family moved to the vicinity of Winnipeg.

Temp got down to about 11c around here, which is about as cold as it ever gets except in really freaky winters. We usually get about a week in the twelve to fifteen range and everyone holes up like armageddon has arrived.

Emperor class battleship. Ramilies class starfort. In the fluff, Ramilies are occassionally hauled into war zones to form a kind of gigantic orbital firebase to rain down destruction on a planet.

Winnepeg is known for a number of things and having a good climate in not one of them. And that's by Canadian standards.

You don't do orbital b for accuracy, you do it to flatten vast swathes of territory. You want accuracy, brake out the strike fighters and bombers of which both the station and the Emperor class have in huge numbers.

No. Orbital b is not something you place near anything you want to live.

Yeah, Imperial naval weapons don't have Star Trekian surgical accuracy with planetary bombardments. They flatten whole zones.

Like IO said, call down the fighters. They pack a lot of firepower too.

Fighters are vile. Missle launchers, autocannons, plasma weapons and lascannons are common and they pack quite a few guns on each fighter. And that firepower is negligable on a BFG scale. Bombers pack the really heavy ordinance. Ship killing ordinance and anti fighter weaponry.
