Glad somebody noticed that, whether it was Rogue 9 or not.

Oh, and Kuja: Only in Texas, where Sex Ed is "ABSTAIN, or GOD WILL GET YOU." And then they move on to alcohol without covering any of the lovely and wonderful diseases you can get from it. It's so much fun!

I can't speak for the rest of the posters, but I for one realized that by the time she worked her way through the court system and got to the point where her execution is imminent, that child she's carrying would be entering school.

As much as I appreciate the sentiment, I must point out the one thing I agree with Nieztch on. When fighting monsters, beware lest you become a monster yourself. The rule of law must be paramount in criminal matters. Allowing the rule of passions and impulses to decide criminal cases leads down a very dark road indeed.

Emotions will always run high on issues like this, but emotions are something to be left at the door when entering any debate, especially these kinds.

For all the vented anger online and in real-life on this matter, the "dragging her into the middle of the street and stoning her" strategy is a poor one, unless you happen to live in one of many Middle-East nations that allows such practice. The law is blind and no man is above it, so due process comes, as obviously guilty this "woman" is and heinous an act she went through with.

Well, for my own part I never said anything about denying her a fair trial. I just could care less if her last few hours of life are miserable and painful. That said, I don't advocate 'eye for an eye' executions or anything of that variety.

It is such a mean, evil thing she did to that poor baby, but I really don't see the point in having her get the death penality or torture. It's not going to solve anything, but it will just compound the tragedy. They should punish her so that she can never commit the crime again, but I doubt anything extreme will prevent assholes like this from doing it regardless.

What worries me about this sickening case is how the state family agency completely dropped the ball here. Six years of abuse and bad parenting reports and they still let SIX children live in that home with a man who has phisically struck them and a woman who has been known to feed a child a bottle of beer instead of milk because she was drunk so the child should be drunk as well. Also, they had reports of drug dealing at that house. Most definetely a place not fit for children, maybe not even for animals.

I hope she can't get out on "mental illness or defect" and she spends a long long time behind bars, of the metal kind of course, but what I really want to see is some reform in the agency which was responsible for preventing this tragedy. However, we must keep in mind that we only hear about the failures not the sucesses and I don't really know the agency's record but they really messed up on this case and a little girl is dead as a result.

My question is this: If the mother/girlfirend/stupid cunt (take your pick) wasgiving this kid a bath, would she have been burned, too? And if not, then how would she have been able to even put her hands int hat temperature water? And further, how in the hell did she give the kid THIRD FUCKING DEGREE BURNS and not even bother taking her to a hospital!?

Well, if she does end up getting a plea bargain for mental illness, likely she would be instiutionalised as a sociopath or schizophrenic, with lots of meds and counseling. Or so we would hope, as I don't know how the system works up in Michigan. Naturally, though, she'd be released from there, eventually, getting a check from the governemnt at the end of it all for being a psycho twat.
