He nodded, unfazed by the thought. "We have a fleet of warships that could be utilized in the transportation of the goods, depending on the space requirements. Where would we fall back to with the cargo, though?"

"That's definately a problem. If Zelnor Prime falls then the Sparticus Route will be cut off; It could take decades to get back to civilisation. There's one thing for sure; We have to stop reacting and start acting."

He drums the tabletop with his fingers. "We have access to a warfleet. If necessary, we can cut our way through the opposition and exterminate them as we go."

"That's what I'd do; Unfortunately I think Lord Vonrilyental would disagree. He's... Mellowed over the years." Pater hesitated from saying 'Grown Impotent' while in the very centre of the Lord Inquisitor's powerbase, but the implication was clear.

"We have no idea of how many heretics there are on this planet. For all we know, what we've engaged is the tip of the iceberg. It seems as if every time we attempt to engage in our larger plans, a new rebellion or incident arises, with greater intensity than the last. In my opinion, this world is likely unsalvagable."

"That's mine too, but this planet is the Lord Inquisitor's baby; I don't think he'll surrender it willingly. Also, he and Inquisitor Talstrem see things... Differently to us. I'm pretty sure we could count on Inquisitor Gix' assistance, probably Adivan's. Lord Vonrilyental is the key, though. We can't order an Exterminatus and/or evacuation without his authority. I don't think we'll get it."

"Then we do as the Emperor wills and work with the tools at hand. Our naval strength is such that we can withstand all but the most determined invasion forces. Our ground strength is an altogether different matter. If need be we can concentrate our forces at a centerpoint, such as the Mechanicus temple where the initial fighting occurred, and scorch the earth around it with heavy bombardments on any attempted incursions."

"I don't think we can trust anyone, except possibly the Guardsmen and Arbites. That makes about 20,000 troopers I'd trust to watch my back. That's not very much on a global scale, especially if we're cut off from the rest of the Imperium for an extended period of time. No, we need to pacify this planet quickly and preferably leave as much of it intact as possible if we want to assist the rest of the Subsector. I suggest we take the offensive; assess the parts of the planet most likely to rebel, level them from orbit and impress the rest of the planet into a fighting force to dispatch to the rebelling planets."

"I can start drawing up the targeting assignments immediately," he concurred. They could level several hive cities, which should make the requisite impression and cut off the major source of recruits.

Lillith and her eldar companion were now very, very lost. Trapped somewhere beneath the hiveworld. Echo rat nests, and the search for they enemy had turned down too many false leads. She was now unable to recieve any communication, too deep inside the hiveworld for any pickup to find. That was where she found it. Xenos structures, eons old destroyed by a malacius hand, still something gem encrusted glowed in the ruin, the lieth xenos convict that accompanied her immedatly recognized the item.

Nathan was more than a little suprised at the sudden re-appearance, of his apprentice, on board the station, with an eldar in tow. Especially given the fact that it was in his quarters, and as a result of his own webkey suddenly activating.

What she handed Nathan suprised him. An artifact, not one the priaha could wield, only a psyker could use this, anchient predating humanity. It was a stone, the moment it left her hand it began glowing, again. A tear of Eyasha.

On board the Fools' Wager

In the Sergeants' room was a small box with a note pinned to the outside.
To: Sergeant Synnove Margarte
Greetings from your business aquaintance the gun fanatic.

I'd thought you might like to know that the proverbial excrement seems poised to hit the equally proverbial cooling unit, and if I were you I'd advise your Captain to high-tail it out of the subsector while you still can, assuming Inquisitor Gix has concluded that you don't intend to bring the Imperium to its' knees with a hidden vial of Albino Batshit. Despite what you may think of the Inquisition I would not relish you and yours being caught in the crossfire.

Happy Trading
Inquisitor Pater Novum, Ordo Malleus.

Inside the box was a Rosetta in the shape of a black flower petal.

Nathan walked in and looked at the situation board. He saw Pater,Prius and Adavian , he heard the comment on him being soft ...well needless civilian casualties always was a problem for him...a waste of resources as it were .

He watched the screen a minute more and knew what had to be done "Pull troops away from this hive here....time to trully show them what the Emperors Hammer loooks like ......."

He looked at the three men " Drop a standard anti ship missle from orbit on this hive here... it is already lost we need to cauterise the wound"

He frowned "What ? Its a 600 gigaton nuclear weapon.... should be sufficient to cleanse the hive "

Prius' eyes shone with holy enthusiasm.

"In fire and storm shall they be redeemed. Call forth the souls of all that live, and the Emperor shall embrace his own." He looked at Nathan. "Are we going to lead a strike against the planetary governor?"

"Assuming he's present. Do we wait for authorization from Lord Vonrilyental, or do you want me to order the strike now?"

"Yes we wait.I do not wish to step on too many toes in this mision. He should see the coreectness of our actions but I prefer to have my ducks in a row in a case like this"

He turned and looked at the Star map.His eyes flicked from place to place.then they stoped as he looked at something.

"Hmmmm.....our enemy cannot be this bklind or else it is a trap."

Pointing out one system in particular. "Tell me do we have any ships that can recon this system here?"

" Um why sire?" A rating spoke up" it is uninhabited and generally uselesss to us"

Prius began entering the fire missions on his dataslate, happy visions drifting through his mind of exploding hives, heretics burning alive in whirlwinds of nuclear fire, all for the glory of the Mighty and Beneficent Emperor.

He glanced up curiously at Nathan's request, wondering what it was about himself.

" I my be wrong applying ground tactics to a space fight but....if I was one of those sneaky bastards ...I would set up a central supply area in that system. Uninhabited just means no one in there right mind will go looking there.....perfect to supply those sytes with troops and war material..."

"Captain, we need to be going. Now," Synnove said decisively.

"Something else come up besides mass revolution and a shootout in the shipyard?" Uschi asked.

"A warning from one of the Inquisitors we made a sale to. In his words, we need to 'high tail' it out of the subsector."

Uschi tapped the comm unit on her desk. "Frates, how soon can you have the engines online, and I mean absolutely how soon?"

After a moment, the reply came back. "Crash start, three hours skipper. That's if we don't fix everything else the Bitch took apart."

"Do it."

Uschi studied the starmap.

"KX-2312, right here. Unoccupied system. We can finish putting things back together there."

She stood up, rubbing her eyes. "Be damned if we ever come back to this shithole system again."

Prius decided to let the two resolve it among themselves. It would be especially unpolitic to point out that Pater's ship was still somewhat battered from the recent unpleasantness.
