Well, I'm a godawful gamer when I'm drunk- but let me tell you, when I'm otehrwise chemically incapacitated through perhaps materials of a grown nature, I am REALLY REALLY good at the Specialists. Scarily so. I'm talking about attaining scores along the lines of 5-1 kills/deaths, with pistols only. It's really weird.

A certain amount of inebriation can actually improve play in certain games, because of the way that a buzz can cause you to hyperfocus on the game. I know that in the old days I used to go to the pool hall and stink the place up until I had a few shots of tequila in me. Then I'd start making shots all over the table, which generally led people to conclude that I was a hustler.

Of course, once I noticed it I started to have fun encouraging the image by leaning over to confess to people (with all 'drunken sincerity') that "I'm not really as bad as I pretend to be." (Wink wink wink)

Depends on the game really. I usually do better at Mario Kart, but I'm not quite as good at Guilty Gear with a drink in me.

Me and my friend are pretty even in Super Smash Bros. usually depends on whose been playing the most recently. But when he's stoned he plays a lot better than I can, usually I have to be really cheap to win a match easily.

EDIT: I guess I should mention I've never been intoxicated before in my life.

I'm better when drunk. Marginally so in first person shooters, and significantly so in racing games.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. Taking into acount that I suck in just about every game I've played even when sober, I think I would suck even more if drunk. Of course I don't know for sure as I've never tried it (and probaly never will).

My sister plays better when she's drunk. I'm teaching her how to play Halo 2 right now. Everytime she gets killed, she has to take a shot. Suffice to say, at the end of the lesson, she was aiming better, moving around in a more coordinated fashion and etc. All that, and she had to wobble out the door.

Well..... I was playing CS while half-smashed, and early in the "morning". What happened was my friend said, "he's behind you". I turned my character around and just looked at my opponent gunning me down with his pistol.

Tromgar, a cleric I used to run with when I played albion (DAoC) was simply a decent healer in rvr when sober but get him drunk and singing and he could keep a group up though a mid bomb

For some reason I play Gran Turismo 3 better when drunk to the tune of a six pack. I think it may cause me to pay closer attention to the game or something. But then I suck so much at the game it would be hard for me to play worse.

I play differently while I'm drunk. I can't really say how, since it's not even a "drunken recklessness" thing. I guess I just get that much more zen. Twitch-reflexes get a lot better.

Unfortunately, my body is so accustomed to the ganja that I really don't play any differently than I do when sober... however, I DO get a lot more patient. Typically, while playing online, if I get a bad luck street (or if my team just sucks) I get too frustrated and quit after only a few minutes. However, while Homer'd up, I can sit there for hours, and I think I just get more accustomed to the game after a little bit of time.

Some of my best counterstrike games were when i was drunk. Some of my worst also. Depends in the degree of drunkiness I suppose.

I've found that when I played N64's Golden Eye and Perfect Dark with a buzz I turned into a godlike killing machine. It was sick....but after I had passed the buzz point into the "too damn drunk" stage, my abilities would vanish instantly. It was like I was hitting some invisible wall....I would be unkillable until a certain point, and once I hit that point, I would get owned by EVERYBODY.

Last year in the dorms, my friends and I played the Mario and the Lost Worlds while we were drunk all the time. When we were sober, we couldn't even get halfway through some of the levels. When we were drunk, we could beat the lost worlds pretty quickly.

With Battlefield, I get better and better as I drink, until I get up to 5 or 6 drinks. After that, it goes downhill pretty quickly.

Drunken foosball is not pretty. Reflexes are king. That's all I remember playing drunk.

Oh, and RA2 once I think. I sucked it up.

It seems most people play better when drunk in action games like FPS or such. Oddly, my best drunken gaming sessions happened when I was playing strategy.

I remember, during my days in the university, I played Heroes II of Might and Magic in the "morning", right after celebrating my friend's birthday (Johhnie Walker, Smirnoff, and such). I beat the crap out of computer AI during the "dragon city" mission in Archibald Campaign. I never saved (and restored) my games, lost some battles, but won the mission anyway, in shorter amount of "days" (in-game days) than I could possibly achieve when not drunk. :?

Speaking about drugs, I never tried marijuana with games, but once I was zipping through the entire Ordos campaign in Dune 2000 when using Crystal Meth. Shit, I don't quite remember how many days it took (real-world days, mind you), and don't quite remember how it ended. *shudders*

Anyway, did you remember your Avatar could get drunk in Ultima VI? I found it's quite fun to get your Avatar drunk while you're also drunk yourself!

I play far better when i've tipped a few ales.

As i mainly play MMORPGs, Everquest 2 at the moment, the beer makes me more sociable so i walk into a group easier and i'm not as stressed. I swear sometimes when i play the computer i can be like the CS loser animation. After a few drink i don't give a fuck and strangely i tend to die less.

Disturbingly well... Battle Engine Aquila with just over a litre of pure alcohol in my system... I didn't even NOTICE the lag... when I wasn't playing it online... I hate my computer...

When I play CS drunk, for some reason I kick ass. I'm a lot more bold and I charge right into the enemy. However, when I play games like Warcraft 3 drunk, I am beyond terrible.
