It is my honor and privelage to relate to you the will of the Senate and Commonwealth I serve in respect to the renewal of the treaty of mutual respect, trade, and common order that has existed between our august powers since the establishment of the Ambrosian province and military base by my government in the Galactic East. The President, who has spoken so highly of you in the past, wishes to renew our treaty and thinks it unlikely you would do but accept the position which has benefitted both our peoples so much in times past.

This being the case, I humbly request that you review the section of the Treaty of Ambrose as it pertains to your nation, and request that you respond as to whether or not you will be renewing the treaty, and if not, what changes you may wish to affect to make it more palatable to you.

The areas of particular interest to our government are;

Article 7: In which the Three Suns Commonwealth and the Orders of the Knights Templars agree to favored nation trading status to one another, in particular, allowing significant discounts on Commonwealth-built military apparati.

Article 8: In which the Three Suns Commonwealth and the Order of the Knights Templars agree to respect the territory of each other's nation and provinces, in particular, the Province of Ambrose which lies within the general region of your grand nation.

Article 9: In which the Three Suns Commonwealth and the Order of the Knights Templars agree to provide basing and support for anti-piracy efforts along both the Commonwealth's Ambrose-Ulrich line and the Order's trade routes towards the United Terran Republic and it's allies.

It goes without saying that Article 1, promising mutual respect and friendship between our nations, is of great importance to my government in general and myself in particular.

I hope you will accept the continuation of our history of peaceful, mutually useful trade.

The Indas system had served as the cradle of Indashani civilization, and even now with those that had built the world having moved on it retained a great deal of its appeal physical and otherwise. The Sabai occupied the world, but they had changed only the internal leaving the Indashani constructs and cities relatively untouched. It was unclear if this respect to the structures of those that had come before was practical or part of some agreed upon covenant between the Sabai and the Indashani. The world endured, and with a significant Sabai population residing in the planet, it promised to once again prosper.

Indas had been chosen to become a central world to the Sabai, one of great importance. The second Sabai fleet was stationed in the world, and the orbital defenses which had been built by the Indashani had been modernized by the Sabai. Nonetheless, while the Indashani had been hesitant to allow others within the home world of their people that was no longer a primary concern. Indas had been chosen to host one of the primary diplomatic stations. It was in this world that the dealings of the Sabai with others would be predominantly carried out.

The Sabai diplomatic directorate took most of the formerly Indashani structure. Its internal security systems had been removed, and replaced with Sabai counter parts for a variety of reasons but the architecture employed was undoubtedly Indashani. The director’s office was located in the top most floor, allowing him a breath taking view of the surrounding country side as well as the primary city within the world. The Indashani capital still glittered like a jewel in the distance, a reminder of what had come before. The director admired the scenery for only a minute before forcing himself away and concentrating on the tasks at hand.

The Indashani had been gracious in arranging for formal introductions before they had departed in their great ships. The Sabai had been made aware of those nations in whom the Indashani had trusted or at the very least respected. Through Indashani newscasts and recordings, the Sabai had been brought to date on galactic affairs and ultimately prepared for the time when the Sabai would themselves cast their hand into galactic politics and affairs. Nonetheless, this did not mean that the Sabai were in the same position as the Indashani had been. Nations that had been warm to the Indashani or at the very least neutral towards them, now had to contend with a new power, with new thoughts and ideologies about a variety of subjects. The transition was not flawless, but it was the best that could be done under the circumstances.

The Sabai had begun their political maneuverings, attempting to discern which nations to approach with offers of improved relations and which nations to overlook all together. It was a time consuming task. The Sabai had until the last few decades spent their entire existence in isolation; a gilded cage of their own making. Their diplomatic skills had not been up to the task of performing the graceful ballet of interstellar politics. Thankfully, arrangements had been made and suitable advisors been made available.

His attention focused on the air before him, a glimmering image floating before him revealing the latest message from the Stuart Corporation. The director had studied the files which the Indashani had made available to his people closely, the nation was known to him. His mind considered his alternatives, the Stuarts were highly unusual in the scheme of things but they had been considered in high regard by the Indashani. A familiar presence manifested within the room, an invisible hand politely touching his mind. He considered for only a moment before allowing it the access it requested.

~You and yours could do far worse than dealing with the Stuart Corporation.~ The thoughts had a feminine tone and were laced with honesty. The mind was strong, her thoughts resonating within the mind of the Sabai director with obvious vigor. The mental capabilities of her people had been well known.

The director did not waste time in formulating a reply. “I know their file and as much of their history as you and yours knew about.” He paused for a moment. “I want to know what you think about them. Just you, not what I have read about them. What were your experiences with them?”

The words of the director were answered promptly. ~This is highly irregular. My experiences could be biased, the data you have available is impartial.~ The thought was laced with puzzlement at his request.

The director smiled. “You are here to advice are you not? Please, do as I request of you. I will keep the possibility of bias in mind.”

~I and mine chose to remain behind as was agreed upon in our covenant. We will remain until our presence is no longer necessary or our covenant is completed.~ The thoughts were laced with mild irritation, but that emotion was quickly buried beneath the surface almost as quickly as it clawed its way to the surface. ~Nonetheless, I shall do as you ask in the hope that it shall be of use to you.~

“Thank you.” The director spoke softly, aware that his words were barely necessary to communicate with his guest.

~The Stuart Corporation possesses one of the most unusual governing styles I ever had the pleasure of encountering. Each citizen is barring some misfortune technically immortal due to the eccentricities of that nation. The concept disturbed me, but that was purely my opinion on the matter. They are not the only nation capable of this feat. They as a nation tend to focus inward, and due to their engineering capabilities and the peculiarities of the worlds they resided upon they do not feel the same outward pressure as other human nations. They have a tendency to be on the arrogant side believing that their way is the right way, but that claim can apply to many civilizations. Every time I visited the holdings of the Corporation I was treated well and with respect, although at times it felt as if I was being treated in a oh so patronizing manner that it bordered on irritation. The truth of the matter is however, that they are capable allies. Their concentration inwards is not likely to produce many visible blunders, although their blunt manners make some of their diplomats less popular than others.~

The director listened to the thought which manifested in his mind barely above a whisper and considered closely. “What in your mind is their greatest flaw?”

~In my opinion, they are too focused inward. The galaxy may one day arraign itself against them, and it is unlikely that they would do much to stop it. The Stuarts have traditionally been far too defensive minded for my liking. It is part of what makes them attractive though, they will leave you to your own affairs and expect the same treatment. They are however a people that take their obligations seriously.~

The director chuckled softly. “I thank you for your counsel.”

~It was my pleasure, I hope it has helped in shaping your decision.~

“It has.” With those words said, he felt the mind of his guest withdraw from his own. A moment later, he was once more alone in his office. He took a deep breath, held it for a moment and moved his hand. A letter crafted that was suitable for his needs.

The home world of the Sabai was in its own way more and less impressive than its Indashani counter part. Sabai architecture was more subdued than the Indashani equivalent, and as such the capital city seemed to be a coal in comparison to the jewel which was the Indashani capital. Nonetheless, internally Sabai constructs had a life of their own functioning in ways that the Indashani could never have overtly matched. The hall of the Acheron was the heart of the government; the Knight Templar message received and brought directly to the attention of the Acheron himself.

A Vessell, roughly 70 meters in length shimmered into existence(SHadow Style hyperspace entry and exit) It was colored red, the color of diplomacy and bore the holy symbol of the God Helm, the Warchlord, God of Protection, who's holy order plys an integral part in maintaining the military and negotiating treaties. It was armed heavily for a transport, but wasnt a threat to nearby military vessels.

greetings to our friends in the high council, and well wishes to your emperor. naturally we are interested in furthering diplomatic relations with our neighbor states, and would be more than willing to provide aid with the expansion process. perhaps a personal meeting between our mutual representatives to hammer out the fine details of the contracts would be agreeable? such discussions are of course, highly sensitive and we much prefer to keep our negotiations as confidential as possible.

although our hyperspace relays are of course secure, accidental breaches by unwelcome parties have been known to happen, and as a result we would want to prevent such things from occuring. so we believe it would be in best of our interests to have representatives meet and discuss terms, unless of course you feel the hyperspace relays are secure enough. we welcome future communiques from the high council of aurora.

'No threat' is hardly the initial assumption reached by the denizens of the local Skywatch platforms and the units of the Second Battle Squadron upon the detection of the unknown vessel in orbit of the Sixth's capitol world. Powerful burst from active sensor emplacements wash over its small hull, turrets swivelling away from travel positions to train on it. From one of the three platforms orbitting the planet, a fighter wing hurtles out of the bays, joining the wings already on patrol as they streak towards the fresh contact. No ships fire, no missiles blast free of their launch tubes, but the sudden appearance has certainly gotten the attention of the local space defense forces. As the message is received, a slight bit of the tension running through each and every command deck ebbs, but only a portion. A signal is sent in response, as the real decision-makers break out of offices and meetings and bedrooms, hurrying to an emergency conference.
