I play it. My main is on Infinity. A level 40 Forcefield/Energy Defender called "Aegis Rose".

Funny thing is... when I was younger I thought the Invisible Woman of the Fantastic Four was a lame concept, but now I'm playing a hero with a lot of the same powers.

My little brother did, but he's moved on to WoW.

I mention this only because he was the Thnikkaman, and it was very cool.

You quit EQ2 already. LoL!!! I was on CoH, but I quit a while back along with Galaxies. Just couldn't keep paying the monthly fee when I couldn't really play it that much. It's an awesome game though. It's like the Spiderman 2 game where you can go anywhere.

Know the feeling, Galaxies, CoH, EQII, WoW, none of them held me for long though CoH has the most promise and WoW looks ugly to me

There's a bunch of people who play WoW that used to play all of those. Either way, I was never an RPG fan to begin with nor paying a monthly fee. Galaxies was fun for the first couple of months but when they were slow as shit to add anything and the whole game was bugged it go annoying. That's for another thread though. The biggest problem is being able to play. If you miss a lot of time they don't pro rate your shit or anything. It's the monthly fee and that's it.

I've heard of this game, but never played it. It sounds interesting. How does the gameplay work?

Ah. Well, we discussed multiple games in the thread. Basically, You choose your general powers, fire control, ice manipulation, etc. then you customize your costume. You have health and endurance. You can use abilities and attacks as long as you have endurance, and each one has its own timer. You fight crime, ranging from street gangs to nazis to giant robots. No PvP yet, but that should be fixed soon. You get cool super powers like super jump, super speed, and flight.

It's fucking bitching how customizable your hero can be. There will be PvP when City of Villians hits, last I heard that's in Jan or Feb. You'll get to have secret hideouts or bases in that one.

No PvP??? :o

So is it real time action, or turn based RPG, with the attacks?

I've always wondered if the CoH system was as good as Freedom Force; the lack of decent multi is the only reason I don't still play that wonderful game :)

real time. but pvp is coming fairly soon. in the meantime, level up to the pt youre ready. it should be sweet.

On another topic, I played freedom fighters, and I think the two are at least mildly similar. I know I liked both of them.

So is it a massive world like Zelda: The Wind Waker or Spider-Man 2 where you can travel around and do stuff, or is it divided into sections? How does the server keep up with that many players in real time?

And is City of Villans a sequel, or an expansion pack?

Its 1 big city seperated into zones by huge force-fields. There are two trains that run through most zones. City of Villains is an expansion pack, coming soon.

I really, really wish there was some sort of demo so I could try it without forking over the money for the full version :(

Could you give me a simplified description of the gameplay?

Yeah, just like I said. It's the GTA genre where you have a big city you run around in. I refer to Spiderman 2 because of the super hero ties. I guess I could start with the basics. You build your character, powers, starting abilities looks, and bios. Then you enter into the world and you have real time RPG moves. As you level up you get to new powers and abilities. By the time I quit I was lvl 14 on one character and I had super speed, high jump and hover, which is like a very slow flying method. Plus a number of attacks. That's more to my liking though, I know there was a huge varied aray of combos you could do though. You can run around on the ground and fight random enemies or meet with your contacts and pick up missions which can lead you into story arcs. The city you are at is Paragon city. It's divided up into sections, which a map that comes with it shows. You can either take one of two trains or go through tunnel passages to get to the different zones. Each zone is pretty friggin big and I didn't even get high enough to go to every zone. I was able once I got hover to slowly but surely get all the way up to the blimp in Atlas park which is almost as high as the tallest building. I could literally look down and still see traffic on the ground. The fights where pretty good, decent enemies and pretty crafty tactics. I just wish that I could either choose between having it RPG style or regular punch/kick button and button combos. Regardless, if your into MMORPGs and Comic hero stuff, this is the game. I just don't have the money to spend every month on a game like that, when sometimes I don't have the chance to even turn my comp on for a day or two.

Thank you very much.

One more question: How much do you have to pay per month? :?
