Kickass Vanity Fair picture

Post by Vympel »

Looks like virtually every "main" character in the entire saga

With the exception of the late Alec Guinness, of course. Only gripe- what is Jar Jar doing in the MIDDLE of the picture?

Link

The issue will contain an interview with George Lucas where he explains a lot, apparently. I want to get it.

Nice Third Element bit in there.

Not bad.

Jarjar is in the middle because, well, where else is he going to be? Interestingly, Lucas is on the far left... a display of humility perhaps?

Jar Jar placed next to Christopher Lee and Samuel Jackson made me laugh, do their uber-coolness cancel out his lameness? Or do the two of them cancel it out and still end up with surplus cool? Hmmm.... :P

The picture as a whole is awesome, it´s probably the best SW-related promo-pic ever. Really reinforces the whole "saga coming to an end"-aspect. Only gripe is no Jeremy Bulloch, Ray Park, Temura Morrison, Warwick Davis or Daniel Logan. =\

Hmm... maybe they should have put in Boba Fett, just the character (the same way they put in Chewbacca and not Peter Mayhew, even if Peter Mayhew is under that walking rug). Or Jango.

True, maybe Temura wasn´t available for the shoot.

What bugs me is who´s inside the Vader suit? David Prowse?

That's pretty cool to see everyone there, well almost everyone.

Btw, who's the kid standing by Lee, is that Jake Lloyd?

Cool picture though the centerpiece is odd given that neither of the main cast is really in it.

Still very cool picture.

Bah! Where is Dennis Lawson? He was the only character, bar the main cast who was in all 3 original movies.

I see Mark, Harrison and Carrie and I want to cry. It's all coming full circle now, gentlemen. It's almost over. the Magic will be gone forever...Gawd, I think that, no matter how good it is, I will sit in the theater in stunned silence through all of ep. III, thinking about all the time I've blown discussing, thinking about, fantacisizing over, imagining myself in, and watching movies about, the Star Wars universe. As cool as it should be, aren't you guys the least bit sad to know that's it's all going to end?

Poor Wedge will never get sweet love.

What's funny is he in some ways should have near main character level. I mean been at both Death Star runs...able to survive at the end. And he was seen in the ending celebration.

Porr Wedge.

Yes and no.

Yes, because it will be the last SW film ever, assuming there isn't some kind of 'reimagining' or 'remake' made a century later. Hah! Like that would ever happen...

No, because really... it's not the end. There is always the EU!

Well, yeah, I'm sad. After all, this is the final Star Wars movie! How can a fan NOT be sad?! All things must come to an end, and I guess movies aren't an exception :(
Still, asides EU, we still have SD.net and its community of fanfic writers to keep the SW spirit alive and kicking!

There was no shoot. That photo's a composite shot.

That's how they got Jar-Jar and Grievous in there, since they're both CGI. :)

And George certainly has some 'splaining to do.

Honestly, what disturbs me isn't so much the end of the series as the fact that it might not end cleanly. The notion that a TV show could be the next step, and from there for Star Wars to become a Star Trek-esque cash cow under the control of a Berman-type figure is my major concern.

I would like to view RotS in the mind of this being the final piece of a somewhat well-crafted story that I can look back at for a long time with sweet nostalgia.
