Too late. Even now, I'm writing a scenario which I'm gonna send to Lucasfilm with a petition to make the movie. Thanks for signing!drphlox wrote:Bring it on!!!!!!

Hmmmm... interesting. Thanks for the idea. Probably we may put Palpatine as the major male character in Star Wars Adult Holiday Special. Don't have any idea who the female counterpart will be. Probably Aunt Beru? How about Jar-Jar's mother?drphlox wrote: i knew it was a piece of crap movie even before i saw this thread
although how bad could it be? At least its not Palpy in Itchy's place!!!!!!!!!

It's one of those things where I've heard for so long that it's so, so horrible, that I have to see for myself to see if it's as bad as they say (since I am normally a very, very forgiving movie watcher).Stofsk wrote:Are you in a masochistic mood or some shit? I can't believe you people are watching that garbage. I have early memories of Han going to Kasskyk (sp?) but the rest of that crap was thankfully burried deep in my mind to never be unlocked.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

It's something akin to a Forbiddon Fruit complex, or whatever one calls it: we know that there exists out there the blight of all blights of the Wars-verse, something that society has tried to bury under layer upon layer of horror stories, bad reviews, and warnings of eternal woe to those who would dare to watch such, and all this serves to do is egg us on in our desire to seek out and view this hidious thing, regardless of whatever consequences may be incurred as a result.Stofsk wrote:Are you in a masochistic mood or some shit? We may as well face the beast face to face and get it over with, rather than let it be floating around in the dark to haunt us for the rest of our days.

its like when someone says, "Fuck! that smells horrible!" and everyone goes, "It is? Here, lemme smell it!"

Star Wars is a poor substitue for money and ladies.RogueIce wrote:And who needs that when you have Star Wars?Petrosjko wrote:Through suffering, illumination.

I wonder if I should break out some of the snacks I've been saving for the Big-Ass AnimeFest (TM) I planned for Saturday for this special occasion...
...Hell, I wonder if I should transfer this to my notebook and feed the video directly to my TV (and VCR for proliferation).

Reflecting now upon the last 100 minutes of my life, I have to admit that I feel quite dissipointed with things as they turned out: no in that I was expecting anything good to come from it - that review was proof enough that it was a piece of shite - but in that I was expecting something that would rip my still-beating heart from my chest and suck every last bit of grey matter out of my skull. Mind you, I still got plenty of kicks and giggles from it, but it just seems as though it really isn't that bad as people make it out to be (though, I admit, I'm terribly merciful when it comes to stuff like this - most of the time).
The Good:
The Cartoon: the short was actually pretty nifty in some aspects, and while it has many a flaw, it has one or two high-points. Boba Fett seemed to be done quite well, both visually and character-wise, though his departure was quite anti-climactic. Also of note is Leah's portreyal in the short: she might have looked fazed in her acting sequences, but her animated counterpart looks as though she's got pure coke running through her veins, and is simply priceless for that so-bad-it's-good quality. And, of course, no one can forget Han's face as he's coming out of that funk he and Luke were in: it's simply indescribable.
There was some other thing that got me to snort hard enough to cause some soreness in the back of my mouth, but I can't remember for the life of me what it was, and I'm too tired to look back and see what it was...
The Bad:
Lumpy: I swear, the desire to go deer-stalker on him is intense, and I don't think it'll ever be sated until I get something akin to his head mounted on my wall.
The whole Jefferson Starship bit: that microphone just made me uncomfortable something awful. The look on that one officer's face when the show ended didn't do much to help, either.
The Ugly:
Grandpa Itchy gettin' his jerk on: 'nuff said.
"Wookiee-ookies"?
Chewbacca's hut sort of looks like something I'd expect from a mid-western ranch house - it's got the wood paneling and everything. Hardly something I'd expect from a jungle-based society.
For some reason, those Stormtroopers were using their power packs as grips...
Bea Arthur's song during that one bit wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Then again, I was expecting the cantina band's song to be blasting at full tempo and with the original notes (which would have made for one Hell of an awful song).
