And who can put up a fight to them? Ares? Zeus? PUH-LEESE. Those lazy trolls from Niflheim would beat them.
Elaborate, please. Besides, the women were quite the warriors themselves....and I pity any Norse god that pisses off all three Athena, Artemis, and Hera....

Well, first of all, the Norse gods cannot die until the final battle. They are destined to d so, and you cannot beat destiny. Thus, whatever the Greek gods do would not be able to kill them.

Unlike the Greek gods, the Norse gods have an actual army. I don't remember the numbers, but they were at least a few mil, IIRC. That's a HUGE advantage, if you want to know.

Gotta sleep now, post more later.

But you forget that the Greek gods happen to be IMMORTAL.

They have Greece and Rome following them. :D

The previous generation of gods was killed, so this one can be, too.

And I meant MYTHICAL ARMY. They would squash whatever resistance the puny mortals will give.

He is undoubtabley refering to the Titans; Kronos (father of Zeus) etc...

Or if you prefer their Roman names; Saturn, Uranus...

Ah, but Uranus was killed by Cronus, and Cronus by Zeus. They were killed by their own. And who were the Norse gods killed by, if I may ask?

And this may just be a duel.....but is it possible that we ignore the last battle for the Norse, in this case?

If we ignore the immortality, then it will be better.

In that case, it really doesn't matter....they were both killed by their own. And as I remember, the Greek gods just died...they were not killed by anyone/thing, so they balance out. And it wouldn't really be better if we ignored their immortality, then they wouldn't be gods, now would they? So we must ignore *how* they died, and have an all-out battle between them. And I thought you were going to bed? ;)

Yes, that would be nice. Good thing it's veterans day 2morrow, and I don't have to get up. It was a good day, I learnt there are hidden forums here, and actually posted in one of them. Also, I made Padawan Learner. Perhaps I should go to sleep now.

Perhaps that would be a good idea....I really don't want to see any minimes around here (except Zaia, of course, but that's another story...)

An advantage that is nullified by Eris' ability to turn them all against each other.

The Norse gods would win. First off the Greek gods are a bunch of petty, bickering gods, who like nothing more than to fuck with humanity, that immediately makes me dislike them.

The best they have to offer is Athena, she's probably their best general. But as someone pointed out the Greek gods never maintained much of a standing army.

I also remember it mentioned how to kill a Greek god. You had to dismember them and scatter the pieces of the body. It would still be alive, but treated this way it was as good as dead.

Odin has the gift of foresight, and besides that he's one tough mother-fucker. He's also got a vast array of magical abilities, none of which I think should be underestimated.

Then there's Tyr, who I think, though I may be wrong, by the simple act of drawing his sword slays armys.

The Norse army, which is gathered in Valhalla, was composed of the best warriors collected off the battlefield.

So the Greeks? No way. They weren't nearly as cool or as hardcore when it came down to war.

Actually, there is a figure similar to Eris in Norse mythology. She caused the war between the Asgard and the Vanaheim. But then they relized what she was doing and killed her 3 times (she kept coming back). So I think they will know how to deal with Eris.

The Norse gods, just because...actually, I believe so because they were a lot crazier bunch (loki wanted to bring about Ragnarok... never seen the greek pantheon try to bring about the end of the world)... a more interesting fight would be the greeks versus the discworld pantheon (go blind Io!).... but besides that I think that the norse gods and Dyonisis (spelled wrong, I know) would get along great!

Ares
A wimp really, took lots of satisfaction in destruction, but when hurt he always ran back home to daddy so he would heal him, this rather disgusted Zeus.
Prometheus
This is the Titan who AFAIK is imprisoned by the gods.
As far as youre opinion goes.
I believe his opinion is pretty much fact, the norse gods came from the vikings, the vikings where among the most hardcore fighters the world has ever seen.
