If you could live on any planet in the SW galaxy, which would you live on?

I'd live on Naboo just because that planet is peaceful, beautiful, and has a mellow community.

If I had a choice, it'd be either Corellia or Coruscant.

I like Corellians and the best pilots in the Core seem to come from there.

Coruscant would be my choice for a rich lifestyle. Lot of activity to get involved in. Then there's all the crime rings running around. Nice business venture.

i'd rather not live on any particular planet, but rather travel from place to place. there are WAY too many diverse cultures out there to just ignore.

The interest I have in exotic biology, marine biology, and predators would leave me with either Mon Calamari or Kashyyk as choices.

JTLS is crap, or so I've heard. They just made up Tie fighters despite the fact that much better ones that do what they're having their ties do exist in the EU...

I'm not sure which SOLE planet I would want to plant my flag on. I like the idea of being a free trader, going from planet to planet wherever the money is.

Seriously, in the SW galaxy there are some places which are just wondrous. Bespin (floating city in the clouds)? Yavin (lush jungle planet with ancient temples and a gorgeous gasgiant to orbit around)? Coruscant (man made marvel, bar none)? Corellia (another man made marvel, in addition to being a alien marvel too via the mysterious Hyperspace Aliens)?

So many places to visit...

Hear! Hear! If I was in the SW universe, I'd be living on a light freighter making a living throughout the galaxy. But if I were to retire and pick a spot to hole up and die, I'd pick a spot on a jungle planet by the sea with some measure of technology, so it'd be a place like Kashyyyk, or (in the EU) the tourist trap Veron, or perhaps on a planet-bound herdship on Ithor (waaay before the NJO, of course).

someone brought up the idea of studying Kashyk's predators. that'd be nice. finally, someone who doesn't just vaguely describe them as primitive beasts.

Probably Naboo, seems like a nice place. Pleasant and the like.

Forget stickin' around on any one planet: the first chance I get, I'm getting a bank loan large enough to get a nice YT-2000 with a quick hyperdrive and making my living delivering goods and people from place to place. I could probably make a very good mint if I can find the right employer and techniqques, and that I'll be hopping around means I get to experience a lot more than my home planet could offer.

I guess Naboo would be a nice place to use for a base of operations, though - AFAIK, it's relatively peaceful, would probably be quite clean, and has a nice design sense. Corellia or Coruscant would probably also be decent, especially for getting jobs or when I decide to start upgrading, and the flow of goods and people coming in and going out means I probably won't get too bored for a long time - though I'll have to make sure to get the Hell out of Dodge when the shit starts flying at various points.

It sort of brings up a thought, though - what are some of us space-faring wanderers going to do during hyperspace jumps? Is there anything like an internet of sorts (asides from the Holonet, which is probably way too expensive, even after the NR started opening up more and more of it for civilian use) where you could chat and do stuff when nothing else is available? What about Wars-verse equivilents to personal computers, gaming consoles, televisions and radios, and DVD and VCR players?

I'd likely take the vagabond approach myself, but I took the OP to mean 'If you had to chose a planet.'

The main problem I'd have with living on Kashyyk would be finding dates, alas.

I'd write highly fanciful tracts on Kashyykian wildlife, with all sorts of humorous and absurd exaggerations.

Naboo is where I'd hang my hat but I'd travel all over to all kinds of cool places.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Corellia.
I have no use for odds.
I'd prefer the piloting skill almost inherent in the culture.
Corellian Jedi are pretty interesting...

The first few years of my adolsecent life and adult life i would live in a old turbolaser tower somewhere on the edge of the main city, get it working and one day peg a pirate (idilicly trying to steal medical supplies from a medical center, sappy, yes) trying to escape the planet with a lucky shot.

After i picked up enough money as a freelance pilot I'd buy myself a nice Corellian Gunship, rally a group of smugglers and build myself a Freelance Navy. And lastly just for the hell of it, paint it bright orange. (theres got to be enough yellow and red to mix to supplement base orange as well...)

Ah, don't say it too son. Who knows, after prolonged stay in Kasyyhk you may find Chewie's sister is getting more and more sexually attractive...

The Imperial Reminant's capital, Braxant IIRC,sounds like a nice planet. A goverment needs a good administration workers and it's not as built up or popular as coruscant so the price of a nice home would be more reasonable.

I don't see myself as living on a rebel planet, they are to fecking messy. I need the order that only the Empire can provide.

The Remnants capital is Bastion, not Braxant, unless it was changed in the very last NJO book.

It's coded named Bastion but it's the capital of the Braxant Sector IIRC.

Correct, Bastion is just a code name to keep the planet secret from the rebels.
