Post by Alyeska »

I just finished up a reformat and I lost my divx codecs. Can anyone recomend some good ones?

I usually use one of the ffdshow alpha builds. It will play virtually anything you throw at it and has some nice post-processing options.

You could also google for "ACE Mega Codecs" - it´s a large RAR archive including an installer. Literally hundreds of codecs in it.

I wouldn't touch the codec packs, I've had too many problems with them. Grab what you need (meaning ffdshow)

I'll second phongn, Codec packs are evil.

No, because of configuration issues. I never had much trouble with the old Nimo Codec Pack, but ACE Mega Codecs Pack (while providing codecs out the wazoo) does have some severe configuration issues that have forced me to play with the settings to get it to a point where I can encode/decode media.
