I cant edit it now. :( Well, methinks gandalf would win in a fight between the two because he is more experianced in magic and he is the essence of a god so to speak in human form. Gandolf has been around a while.

I don't know about this one. Harry has legions of rabid-beeny-bopper-kids at his very command. And let's not forget Harry's Ultimate-Uber power.....Gandalf is a sorcerer, and Harry's pot got him stoned.

Supposedly, Gandalf is from a race of gods, but they've sworn an oath not to use their powers to intefere in Middle Earth, which is shy he has his sword. Gandalf unleashed took out a Balrog. Harry Potter = dead.

Very funny. If you can't come up with a rational explanation, get the fuck out.

Yeah, he is of the Maia, basically the lowest level of divine beings in the world of Middle Earth. He's the same as Saruman and also Sauron.

And IIRC, Gandalf's purpose in Middle Earth is to rid it of Sauron and to destroy the ring. It's even questionable whether Gandalf had normal feelings like a sentient being, or if he was basically just a robot of God. I think that he initially did not, but after spending time on Middle Earth he developed human/elf/hobbit/whatever emotions and became a normal being.

Gandalf would smack the potter boy.. I will have proof.

I have the potter movie on DVD and tomorrow I will get LoTR special edition Gift set yadayada...

If I put the LoTR box on the floor and drop the plotter movie on it nothing will happen...

Now if I put the plotter move on the floor and drop the LoTR box on it (4DVD's, Book, 2 Bookstands) :D

Swords don’t run out of ammunition, and that’s the only thing that’s going to stop Gandalf

I think we all agree that Potter gets his ass handed to him. Why wasn't the original challenge more interesting let say, Gandalf vs ________ (insert opponent here)

I think it should've been at least something like Merlin vs Gandalf...maybe not a good match but HP is a boy who goes around doing palor tricks vs Gandalf.

Gandalf vs. Raistlin. That, I think, would prove to be an interesting fight.

Why whould he not have emotions? The Maiar are sentient just like evry other being. In fact, Olorin was known for his wisdom and compassion while he was in Valinor.

Yeah, but remember when Gandalf returned in TTT? He was initially somewhat cold and distant towards his former colleagues; he didn't even recognize his name at first! It was only after he had travelled with them for a little while that he become the affable, friendly Gandalf of The Hobbit and FoTR.

Yes, but he said himself that he forgot many things that he remembered before. His friendship with the fellowship might have been one of those things.
