Better law enforcement unit, or person

Post by Omega-13 »

Ok, the mayor of NYC has decided to put a new cop on the streets,
the same laws of today still apply to them, but they can 'bend' them, a little,
If each were loyal to the city and citizens, who would make the better police officer,
think about all the qualities a police officer needs, more than just brawn are needed

1. Judge Dredd
2. Robot Cop
3. T-1000
4. Odo
5. Jedi
6. Ranger (from b5)
7. Universal Soldier

All are out fitted with modern weapons and equipment, even the Jedi.

So who makes the best cop? Problem solving, public relations, human understanding, weapon accuracy, reaction time, speed, strength,
etc etc.

Jedi, mind reading and other mental tricks will come in vary handy to a police officer. And the Jedi were involved in a lot of law enforcement stuff to begin with.

Jedi, having somone who knows when you lie and can read your mind is so fucking useful in Law Enforcment its not even funny

Treat him like a Priceless asset, back at Headquaters or have "Meet the Jedi Day" and you can weed out anyone who did anything above Jaywalking in the past thirty years

Only problem with the Jedi, is that they need to rest, eat, and they don't have a lightsabre to deflect bullets,
Some say they can move at a speed where they could dodge out of the way of a bullet, hard to believe considering luke could just have just moved his hand in ROTJ, instead of taking a blaster in the hand. Though he wasn't a fully trained jedi, it still might be an indication that they aren't as fast as some claim, even though they are outstanding.

They'd be a prime target at any dangerous scene. The more popular you are, the more enemies you have.

Yeah but you can't detect a jedi based on sight. Unless they are wearing jedi robes or waving their hands while commanding they look like a normal person, well unless they're not human jedi. So you wouldn't know them unless they did something to draw attention to themselves. You couldn't tell which was which.

The jedi would be all over the news, CNN would be covering the developing story of the Jedi joining the police force,
everyone in the WORLD would know about the jedi cop in NYC

Maybe, but how often do you get shotguns to the face, a normal person wouldn't stand toe to toe with a t-1000 and pump it full of shells, what happens when they run out of shells?

It takes 6 or 7 shotgun slug blasts to put one down, how many people use a shotgun with slug shells, also, there is no liquid steel pit for it to fall into, if it does fall, probably woudln't, peole would be too scared, especially if it had a gun to return fire with

What your ignoring is such things wouldn't be happened nearly as much, and when they did the force would not send its secret Jedi to them or would at least arrange for cover for them.

And why are you sending Mr Dectative out on Car-Chases? Remeber his inate talent is not forensic or physical(though he can probably wing it for both)

HIS abilties lie in being able to read minds somthing increably vauble.

Hell just walk him around Time's Square with two undercover dectives and *listen for nasty peoeple

A trick that according to Anakin only works on the weak willed.
And his Teacher Obi-won says weak minded, However it is true to an extent but as its been proven you can erase memory on strong minded people as well but they know it(Plant some UFO Memories and no one will take them seriously)

That's my point exactly. How many people would resist a police force of these guys?

T-1000 = Public Relations nightmare. I mean, honestly, how many of you would trust a robot as a police officer? There's more to being an law enforcement officer than just apprehending criminals. You'd have to know how to settle disputes, help old ladies cross the street, give road instuctions, etc... In this area, a T-1000 would perform as well as C3PO would.

Actually, he wasn't doing such a bad job, before he saw John, then he went into attack mode, and went into the "the shortest way between two points is a straight line mode"

He did well talking to the parents, put on the smile, and nice face, aswell as said please and thank you. Probably more polite than a human.

he'd need some tweeking though

The Jedi: just have him probe the persons mind for the truth, you get all the evidence from his mind and you find it later and he doesn't have a clue how the police found his very well hidden stuff. You wouldn't make let it be known that the person is a Jedi. Maybe have him sit outside the interegation room and probe from there.

I'd say T-1000 with a bit of tweaking (well, a lot of tweaking.) It can be nice and help old people cross the street. It's also really hard to kill, and it has Odo's shapeshifting ability, which would make it incredibly useful in undercover work.

Just need to tweak the attack mode so that noncombatives are registered as unable to be shot. As the situation intensifies, the barriers would have to lower, just like in real life.

Are you trolling, or are you stupid?

How the fuck can a reporter in a helicopter tell from the air whether someone is using Jedi mind tricks? That's the Jedi's most important skill, you know; it's not as if you're going to send a precious resource like that out to leap on speeding cars.

Just need to tweak the attack mode so that noncombatives are registered as unable to be shot.
Or stabbed or nearly run over or throw out of moving vehicles. I think it's not a case of tweaking so much as starting from scratch.

A trick that according to Anakin only works on the weak willed.
News flash: most people are weak-willed. If you doubt that, you are either naive or stupid. Look at the statistics for obesity and cigarette smoking. Not to mention the susceptibility of the average person to Pavlovian advertising.

I'm a little tired of people acting as though "weak-willed" is some kind of remarkable exception to the norm. It is the norm.
