THE greatest trio EVER. PERIOD.
I haven't purchased it yet but I've really enjoyed their latest release Vapor Trails

Her songs are pretty tough too I think, a couple good piano players I know can either play the songs or sing them, but they can't do both at the same time without losing time and mangling things.
Tori Amos and Billy Joel are my two piano gods. I have just about all of their music, and can play mosssst of it (some pieces, like Tori's "Precious Things" are a hell of a lot hard to play than they sound) and sing too, but usually can't manage to do both well. Except for a couple of the slow 'n' pretty ones ("Winter," "Here. In My Head," "Flying Dutchman," "Black Swan," etc). Billy's songs I usually don't sing along to because my voice doesn't go that low (except for "And So It Goes" which I just bump up an octave). :D

Do you know Tori's version of "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin?

Yup, I have that CD somewhere but haven't listened to it in a while, I should pull it out and get re-acquainted with with. Right now I still know all the songs on the album but I can't quite remember how half of them go. "Winter", "Crucify, and "Angie" I remember perfectly, but the other 2 I'm only vaguely familiar with now. I just got my hands on her "Scarlet's Walk" CD last week so it shouldn't be too long until I finish listening to it 50 times and start cycling back through her albums again. Now if I could only figure out how she plays "In the Sprintime of his Voodoo" I'll be happy. :D

Did I mention that I got to hug Tori after a concert in Toronto last year, and that I have tickets to her concert here next week?

Lusankya: Deal!
Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

Vocalists: I'd say Peter Frampton, Bob Seger, or Freddie Mercury from Queen.

Guitarists: Jimi Hendrix . . . no question about that. I'd say Frampton was a good guitarist as well.

Drummers: Don't know many drummers, but I like Chad Sexton from 311.

And, for a bit of sillyness:

Flute: Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull (This should comfortably date my taste in music.) :P

Hmmm....I have the music to "Voodoo" somewhere--I'll look for it later if you like and can scan it and email it to you, if you're interested.... Only, I should tell you that it doesn't include the piano intro section--the piano music starts about 30 seconds into the CD version of the song. It's kind of annoying, but you could probably pick out the real beginning with your ears if you wanted to. :)

And let me tell you--I used to have this friend named Amy who was (well, still is) Tori's niece (through marriage), and I had the opportunity to go see Tori for free, sit next to her parents and meet her backstage after the concert but Amy had to turn into a PSYCHOBITCH and I didn't get a chance to do any of that first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH.

But I am so glad for you that you got to hug her. *forced, trying-to-be-nice smile* And yes, you do suck. Enjoy the concert--I'm sure it'll kick fuckin' ass.

Better than the guy from the Moody Blues?

Or Chip Davis of Mannheim Steamroller?
