Answer with the first thing that pops into your mind.
It's a simple problem but I'm curious as to how other people on this forum would approach it.
EDIT: Assume the data you keep on this drive is already compressed as far as it'll go, zip files, properly encoded music and video ect. Also assume that you have some spare cash available for buying a new drive should you decide to go with that option.

Start deleting, generally, I only ever have about 4 or 5 games on the computer at any one time, and the one that doesnt get played gets obliterated and that usually frees up a couple of gigabytes. I'm a tight-wad student, see?

Catagorize, sort and analyse all data and information. Purge all irrelevent data and infromation. Retain only that which is useful and necessary. Create physical backups of valueable data and information. Assimilate a new harddrive.Spyder wrote:Answer with the first thing that pops into your mind.

Repeat as often as necessary.

A combination of 1 and 2, since I usually have lots of games installed eating up hard disk space so uninstalling one or two is a no brainer, and also stuff like big downloads (ISO images that I've been lazy to burn). Recently I got a DVD burner, and I still have like 48 blank dvds left, I can fit 7 cd images or 4.5 gb in each one, which is pretty cool.
Start burning, then I prune, then I burn some more, then I buy a new harddrive, load everything back up ... and then 1 year later (depending) rinse and repeat.

I had this problem before I got a new computer, since there was only about 5 gigabytes on the hard drive, and then, I just uninstalled games I didn't play very often, or acessories I didn't need. I never had to resort to uninstalling a game I played a lot, since I only had about 3 or 4 on the computer.

I delete which I don't use and burn which I use occasionally. For instance, I just cleared several gigs of freeware games by burning them to cd when I decide to play them again (since many of them are hard to find). Most of the time though, I just delete the junk I've downloaded but didn't like (programs, wallpapers, pictures, shows), and empty the internet files (My sister had over 3 gigs once in temporary internet files).
If that still gives me trouble, its time to break out the wallet and get another drive.

Combination of backing up and deleting. Backup what I want to keep, and delete everything I'm not really using.
