1. Yuuzhan Vong move at hyperspace speeds. In Rebel Stand & Rebel Dream, it seems that they do use hyperspace. This is an example of a group conquering a HUGE tract of territory that they had no maps for in a small amount of time.

This is also a group whose abilities are not in question, and whose abilities are, further, entirely irrelevant. The Huuuver Bong are not the Empire.

2. Hapes Cluster. Had no contact with either Republic or the Empire before Courtship, yet it represented no significant navigational obstacle.
And WTF is a "courtship", and was the Hapes Cluster being invaded?
3. Thrawn's conquering of the Unknown Regions in less than a decade. That is a HUGE tract of unmapped territory, and the problem was not in mapping it, but with defeating the powers that resided within it.

Are a few minor points, like the Empire not being able to easily move about the Star Trek galaxy at first or the ownership of the Son'a drones (Starfleet would actually be able to build better drones if they had the need to, their anti-grav tech's size is small enough to allow people to move cargo around with no effort and just a few devices slapped on the item to move), but the Empire, especially Wong's, to borrow a popular Warsie phrase, masturbating fantasy reborn Empire with it's significant numbers of Eclipse SDs and Deathstar(s?) and probably Sun Crushers and World Devastators too (can't miss the opportunity to kick a race while it's down even after proving beyond a shadow of a doubt the military supremacy of the SW races over MOST Trek races), is it really worth being an ass just to have a few minor, and they are minor- does it really matter whether it takes the Empire a few days or a few years to destroy the Federation, points cleared up?

You could have easily presented your points in a different way and you might have gotten more of a positive response, but you had to do it with an even smugger more arrogant tone than Wong's website and I didn't think that was possible. At least the website is somewhat justified in being set up that way since it is from the Imperial perspective and there is such a significant gap in military capability between the Federation and the Empire. The way I see it, the only decent point you made was the comment about the time needed to find and destroy the Federation. There would need to be significant scouting before an invasion, but even this lag would be pointless as the Empire has the ability to deploy, even with the signifcant commitments needed to keep it's subjugated worlds under control, sufficient forces to beat the Federation and the time factor in doing so really doesn't figure into it because of the technology and size gap.

Incidentally, in the YJK, a ship is damaged and their navicomputer is knocked out. They manage to recover PARTIAL functioning on the computer, and then, without knowing where they are, they successfully make it back to a system by remembering and re-inputting the coordinates for the destination. This would also reinforce the idea that maps are NOT needed, only coordinates.
