All rock is pretty much looked down on by the dance-crazed masses here, christian rock even more so.

There was this despicable band called the World Wide Message Tribe or something who camped out at my High School for about 6 months and that was scary- they made me dance on stage with them and jump around- having man boobs and already being suceptable to a little bullying over them here and there didn't help. All those people watching my man boobs bounce over and over... those christian bastards tortured me for 5 whole minutes

I deconverted her, or at least helped out.

She was a cousin of one of my mates.

See if you recognise her here. Though she might have left it by the time they besieged your school.

Well, lets just start out by me saying that in now way am I a Christian. However, regardless of my stand, there are many "Christian" bands that are both heavy, and intense. You want INTENSE, try some ZAO: The rising end, 5 year winter, lies of a serpent a river of tears, and The Ghost Psalm. Great shit to listen to when its 7 in the morning and you have to drive an hour and a half to go to school. On a more mainstream note, bands like Evanescence and Avenged Sevenfold have many Christian overtones, but dont let their preaching infringe on just making good music.

I wouldn't call it "desperate me-tooing". It's mostly just desperate. Somewhere along the line, preachy Christian assholes got tired of being picked on for being a bunch of whiny pussies, not realizing that proselytizing a religion whose primary purpose is to make people feel guilty about looking at porn would have that effect.

So once they got kicked out of the "cool kids" club, they said, "Fine! We're gonna start our own club!" This single act gave spawn to one of the most deplorable abominations known to the music world: Christian rock.

I totally forgot about one of my favorite bands...Dakona. They are Canadian Christian rock. I'm not sure if they are still on a label or not, but they've toured some with Tonic. They are quasi-Christian rock, IMO.
