I don't scare easily. The last dream I've had in which I was afraid was in was when I was seven.

The last dream I had that could be considered a nightmare by some was a few nights ago.

Basically, I'm in a large, fully packed, foot ball stadium. And all around me there's a mass orgy going on. In addition to this, re-make Dawn of the Dead zombies pop up in random places, eating people and turning others into zombies, adding in a death and human flesh orgy to the normal orgy.

'Twas weird

Nice friend.
Indeed. If that's your friend, than what are your enemies doing you all the time? :)
They were the ones who had kicked the shit out of me (IIRC it involved being hit by a car and then wailed on with bats etc), then it turned out that my friend had double-crossed me...

Who else had once dreamed that a T-1000 was after him or that he was a colonial marine from aliens?

I had a nightmare just last night, or maybe this morning...not sure...anyway, it went like this:

My brother and I for whatever reason went to see the next door neighbours at number 6A, which is like an exact mirrored copy of our house in real life, only it is well, mirrored, so all the rooms are backward.

I don't remember why, but we went into the kitchen, then another room alongside it that our house doesn't have (nor does theirs, in reality) which had a big window just like one at a friend of mine's house that looks out on his back yard. In the dream the view was of a back yard, lots of grass and eventually some houses of the nearby town in the distance.

My brother says something like "hey look, the sun's coming up!" and I immediately point out that's the wrong place in the sky for the sun to come up, but there's that retina-burn feeling you get when you look at the sun that leaves a puprle blob on your vision, so I block it with my hand.

Then I see the mushroom cloud, quite far away, and see another one further away to the left going up. When I saw those my heart just dropped. We had to get away so we ran to the furthest end of the house and essentially "ducked and covered" while the hot wind blast tore through everything. When that had passed, we had to go back home to see if everyone was alright. We found my mum in her bed covered in burns and white cotton wool and bandages, and I think that's pretty much where it ended.

One time I had this dream that I was in my house and I decided to go over to a friends house (this dream was about 6 or 7 years ago). So, as I made my way across the street I noticed that the street was extremely quiet. After about 30 seconds of walking I'm at his house (he lives across the street), I knock on the glass door that is closed. Immediately after knocking his mom darts in front of the door. Now she has always been an extremely nice person and all and I have absolutely no problem with her but she was similar to a werewolf in my dream. She was very hairy and so I decided to run back to my own house. After I got behind the safety of my own front door, the dream was over.

The other night I dreamed I was playing boardgames with Bill Cosby. How's that for terrifying!

The night before that I really had a weird one. I was in a castle. It seemed to be made of black stones and there was shadow everywhere, not much light at all, but it wasn't deserted or dirty. Everything was well kept. Anyway, I was viewing this from a high angle like from one corner of the ceiling, as if I was a security camera and when I wanted to move I seemed to drift in the air. I floated through the castle until I came to a room that was arranged as sort of a dueling circle. Two old men in dark robes were facing off and there was a ring of spectators around. The spectators were more of a blur and I wasn't paying much attention to them as I focussed on the fight, still viewing it from above and floating in and around to get better looks.

It turned out it was a wizard's duel and the magic they used relied on setting different spirits and ghosts on their enemy or using them for different effects. I don't remember who won but when the battle was over, the victor began another summoning and I actually got pulled down to the ground by his power. I found myself suddenly as a pale form of myself, draped in a huge black cloak with a deep hood and compelled to find and bring back some man that I seemed to recognize.

I left the circle and had to semi walk and float over a floor made up of a series of bins holding m&ms and other candies before getting to the rest of the castle. I remember passing very surreal looking women in strange, dark ball gowns and elaborate hair (one with pale blue skin even) who tried to ignore me but could not help but follow my progress with their eyes as I passed. I left the castle and it shifted to me finding the man. He didn't want to come quietly.

I keep a log of my dreams. Most of them aren't as frightening as they are weird. I mostly got these under very, very stressful situations which tended to yield unusual dreams.

Here's one. If the words don't make sense, well, imagine how odd it must have been to see in in my head:

At school, scrounging for Cheetos and stuff in the grass at a party (which involved an ice frisbee, one of my friends being spun around in a kiddie pool whirlpool, and the science teacher complaining about the cat which peed on his bookshelf, which causes his wife to be very upset, since the cat was thown out and she was told she couldn't get it back, but then it turns out he ordered her a pizza for lunch and had some students bring her the white cat, and it is very touching, though for some reason they were in that small field thing behind the office), until a news report says that there's a dangerous kid in the area (there's blackberry bushes... but they've been cut down...), so we're all rounded up and put into this pen thing like a concentration camp. Then a guy who appears to be from the Navy asks me if I'd like to prove myself, for a day, or at most two. I'm extremely wary, but I decide to do it. We walk to where the baseball bleachers at school, and there's a Cessna and some military vechicles, as well as personnel. He tells me to keep my eyes on this purse on the table, and I do. We then walk up this ladder thing and are in this somewhat small room. He goes out through another door, and I follow, I guess. In the small house we see some windows with normal plants next to them and stuff, very boring, yet somehow the man seems to think it makes an interesting philosophical point. I lose sight of the operation once a door closes, so I almost go out a door leading to a convent (which is clearly not anywhere near the school; like a door to a different dimension) because there are three nuns inviting me. The Navy guy asks if I'm abandoning it because he showed up right then somehow, but I say I was not. At this point the ruddy orange carpet in the room is alll messed up, but he doesn't seem to mind it.

Anyhow, we then open the door to this place which is all orange with California poppies. I keep walking, and I am accompanied by an eyeless old man who seems to know his stuff. Despite it looking like a desert, it is very cold. The first man hates poppies. Then this other woman (blonde hair, very pretty) and the eyeless man see where there's an odd, distinct separation, and go towards it, since it is the moon. We are then jumping around on the ash (I think how wonderful it was, since I always wondered what moon ash felt like on one's feet, even if it's only a dream) after I decide to go, knowing death is a distinct possbility, as I have no spacesuit. Anyhow, the three of us end up in this VERY small room, looking at a picture of the moon, and reminiscing. We notice that we change wherever we go, and the lady comes back in on wheels (not like rollerblades, like... she has wheels). At this point, something tells me that I know I am immortal. Anyhow, I try to see if I can get this to work for me too but anyhow, she plants a bomb, saying that the Organization started off all right, but kept getting more crazy and wrong and that we were destroying Uranus' larger moon, and lo, we did... whoops..., but it was corrupted anywho, so she says, "Sure, moon landing, but why Uranus?! Why?!" , puts down something like a bear trap with a little red dot. (Oh, btw, we had noticed we were on the far side of the moon... anyways... and also said no one had 'been there for hundreds of years'... except, when I said the moon landings were few, and mainly in a few decades from the sixities [said in my dream, ignore reason here], no one argued... were we in the future?) . The bomb goes off in an enormous explosion, but I am this little ball of white light and am unharmed. I grasp the Navy guy, who is now small enough to fit into the palm of my hand. He looks like a little black plastic figurine. I ask him what was the point of all this, even though he appears to be a plastic figurine, and extremely dead, but he manges to turn his head to me and say, "I wanted to go home." by that referring to Uranus. I toss him in a random direction, knowing space will carry him forever.

I think in its own way it was a nightmare, though, since having had that dream freaked me out for days.

Since I do the same for some of the stuff that moves me, how do you prevent yourself from "altering" your memory of the dream?

Generally as soon as I wake up, I review everything I can remember, and immediately write brief notes out on a notepad near my bed. I take the notepad and go to my computer, and type it up as fast as possible. I've found if I do it very quickly I can remember much more, and much more clearly. There's always a chance that I've accidentally changed something, but for the most part I think with this process it's probably got to have some degree of accuracy. And it's a dream log, it's not like it'll be too life-shattering if I get some things wrong (even if unfortunate.) :)
