D20 Modern Recommendations?

Post by Jade Falcon »

Are there any modern settings and supplementary books for the D20 Modern system that you would recommend.

At present I own the following

D20 Modern (natch! :) )
D20 Weapons Locker
D20 Ultramodern Firearms
Afghanistan
Somalia
Colombia
FBI
Red Star Campaign Setting
D20 Military Vehicles
Darwins World 2nd Edition
The Foundationists/Metal Gods Darwins World book

Are there any other decent settings or general books that are worth owning.

From what I've heard:

Grim Tales (a pulp rulebook)
Grim Tales: Slavelords of Cydonia (a full campaign in the style of John Carter, Warlord of Mars)
The Stargate d20 rpg is supposed to rock.
Ex Machina d20 cyberpunk should be out soon, a customizable cyberpunk ruleset with 4 different settings (I have the tri-stat version, and it's excellent)
Dreaming Cities, d20 urban fantasy genre (like Ex Machina, a rule set and a bunch of settings) will be out later this year; judging from Guardians of Order's general record, it'll be good too.

I would suggest vary highly the Spycraft System. Basically D20 Modern tailored for spy and action movie stuff. Really cool and an easy system to use. Plus the Shadowforce Archer supplement/setting has even more good stuff.

All in all, I'd rate Spycraft far above D20 Modern. It's a very adaptable, fun system.

Well I did ask for just the modern settings, but I do already have Spycraft, SG-1 and the Farscape RPG as well.
