NAMBLA

This may indeed be the most disturbing thing I have yet seen. How can people possibly condone or endorse pedophilia?

Oh, we've known about NAMBLA for a long time. There's also supposed to be, in Texas, something called the "Gene Guyon society" (possible "Gene Guion") that advocates sex with little girls by the age of 8. I don't know if that is urban legend or not, though.

Theoretically their motto is "Sex by 8 or it's too late" and to join the society you have to provide proof of... having done this deed...

It does not matter what you think of as "perverted"... I guarantee that there is someone doing it, there will be a society of people devoted to it, and that there will be a further group of people who think that they are too tame.

People can be evil indeed.

Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Wouldn't that make membership in this sick little group a crime?

Usually I am hesitant to classify something as evil, but in this case it's not just evil, it's quite disgusting. I wonder if I got put on a watch list for visiting the sight.

Thats a good point, maybe the Cops can use this as an excuse for a raid.

Oh, it's most definitely a crime. It's not a public organization, and its existance is based on people who know people of similar proclivities. Hence it could be Urban Legend, but since pedophiles are known to exist, and they would logically networks amongst themselves, I could see a society like this forming.

So should I report NAMBLA to the police, or do you figure they already watch the site?

Corporal, you should search for the username "Pat Kelly", came to the board giving ambiguous statements about being a possible female who'd been molested by a priest, and later revealed him/her/it self to be a pedophile with a horrifying site with pre-teens frolicking naked. *shudders at memory*

NAMBLA is known by law enforcement, FBI and Interpol... they probably have several people watching that site, plus organized citizens groups as well.

I don't know if they are able to see who looks at the site or if it would matter. The "public face" of NAMBLA is that it is a political organization that wants to overturn laws regarding concent and age, but is, ahem, waiting for that glorious day to happen before actually engaging in that activity.

Uh-huh... yeah.

I think that's because the board doesn't show older threads during searches. I think their posts are in one of that last few pages of the Hall of Shame.

Here's one.

This one I think was the main thread with Patkelly.

*shudders* I hated that bitch.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

NAMBLA is on the Canada Customs shitlist. If a Canadian orders material from them, it's immediately confiscated by us and we notify law enforcement and get them to send a friendly officer to go question and/or arrest the scumbag. Unfortunately we can't go whack NAMBLA, but we can whack their supporters.

I would tend to agree, but the presence of a NAMBLA site indicates that there are a fair number of them.

Did we succeed in knocking that bitch's website down?

It happens enough that we have a specific flag in our computer systems for NAMBLA, and employees at the postal facility are informed to keep an eye out for them. It wasn't a once or twice a year thing, more like once a week or so that we'd get a shipment from them.
