New Jedi Order

Post by Guardsman Bass »

To start off, I think most of the NJO series so far has sucked. I liked SBS, and Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand were fairly well-written, but the plot has been totally pathetic.

For example, in the last two books it seems almost nothing significant happens. There will be lull time in wars occasionally, but this is ridiculous. It seemed more like they were trying to drag out the length and life of the series.

When I mean something significant, I mean this: when are we finally going to see if the New Republic pulls itself together and starts on the road to triumph, or if the Vong are victorious?

I am essentially looking for a decisive turning point, or at least a major battle in the forthcoming. Dark Journey was especially pathetic on this point. I mean, hello? Has everybody since running to Hapes suddenly forgotten that the Republic's head was just cut off?

And now for the nitpicks. The Vong's organic technology is ridiculous, for reasons already mentioned in other posts.

So sue me

Ahhhh, I agree with you to an extent, but starting a thread with your kind of language is like tring to start a fight.

The thing about NJO is that it is just to darn long. The books lack plotline and consistincy between them.

Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand were important since they set up a new rebel alliance, thats of paramount importance.
And the New Republic is dead dead dead.

I think the NR and the IR will be combined in the upcomming trilogy. One of the books is titled The Remnant

I don't think he would turn on the NR, I think he would combine the Remnant and the Chiss and prepare to fight the Vong.
And probably help the new rebels too in ticking off the Vong.

It's very funny, Yuuzhan Vong, just a little change and its Yuuzhan Wong

I'm just going to take this opportunity to say that, about six years ago, I started writing my own little fanfic novel for SW, placed immediately after the Corellian trilogy... and I used the term "Imperial Remnant" FIRST, dammit.

It would be cool if they brought Thrawn back. But the IR just really needs to get involved...now!

I kind of annoyed me that the IR was ignored throughout most of NJO, I complained and they listened.

There are no copyrights on titles. I've personaly read three different novles titled The Third World War all published within eighty ears of each other.

I concur.

I disagree, 100%.

From what I've read, its a much darker Star Wars, I like it.
Now I never read the early books maybe thats why I don't dislike the NJO, but what I did read(4 books, SBS to Rebel Stand) I truly enjoyed and I can't for the love of me see how people can say "it's not Star Wars", as if they had any right to decide that over Lucasfilm and GL himself.

Kyp and Ganner Rhysode seemed close to the dark side early on.

Kyp should know better really since hes been doen that road before.

Both Jedi factions iritated me especially Jacen and his "no we cant attack them, it would be wrong" spiel.
