Still... I see more and more of this in the future. Eventually I'll dig out my old pictures from East Berlin and see how close we may have come.
As an aside they're still that regular? Damn I remember when the first sound of mortars meant it was 7am and the chow hall was getting evacuated again.

I was there! Yep, got my tickets in the Green section (not the crappy gold section ;)) and my tickets to the INAUGURAL BALL too. Just got back a few minutes ago, and now I'm going to bed. I'll have pics up tomorrow, though.

(I got a good balance of politics, too, for every bit of conservative repertoir that I heard, it was all negated by me shaking Dennis Kucinich's hand)

So, uh, how much did this cost, exactly?
Yeah, a lot of the ceremonies get on my nerves. Behold the degree to which the President of the United States is not a King, Queen, Czar, Chairman (In the communist sense), Emperor, or Prince.
Could be worse. Had John Adams gotten his way, we would now be referring to George Bush as "His Elected Majesty".

"The Wire" is the best show in the history of television. Watch it today.

Not too much, really. Inauguration tickets are free, given out by members of the senate and house to their constituency. Inaugural ball tickets cost $150 a pop. Kinda steep, but hey, how often do you get to get the hottest ticket in DC, and for only $300 bucks for you and your date? It was well worth it, I think.
