Originally it fired a bit bolt, but later it fired a beam which is also likely powerful. Either could really hurt an unshielded GCS IMO.

Of course, they could have left out the bit the the Klingons being able to shoot through the Enterprise's shield. You know, when they got Geordi back, they had the intelligence to check his equipment to see if it's been tampered with. Then they could have had a Vorcha versus a shielded Enterprise and had the battle of the century. You can even have the Enterprise end up crashing into the planet, since I imagine the Vorcha is a tough bastard.

The only things that can save the Federation are torpedoes, technobabble, and the wills of Trekkies.

Perhaps they can take out an entire Imperial fleet with the massive energy released by an exploding bridge ocnsole

Probably, especially if it hits the critical control junction in a Jeffries tube that handles the warp core safety locks...

Frequency is irrelevant, as TOW missiles are
a) obviously Borg technology
b) Federation shields can't stop objects traveling more than a hundred meters per second, let alone something traveleing at a couple of thousand meters per second (like the Jem'Hadar attack ships).
