Hera would more than fight....she'd try to bend them to her will in any way possible.

(Ares and Athena were both gods of war, only of different aspects. Athena was also the goddess of metis, of ingenuity. She was the noble aspect of war, she represented strategy and order and honor. Ares was none of these things, he was the darker chaotic aspects of war.

So if I'd have to choose which one was more dangerous I'd have to say it was Athena. She's a warrior, she's smart, and she's got all the powers of a Greek goddess.

I can't recall anything Ares has ever done to warrant any respect.)

Plus the fact that Athena kicked Ares's ass every time they fought against each other.

Partly because he's afraid of women in general.

True.

I should point out the Olympians could use Proetus to infiltrate the Asgardians, since he was a shapeshifter.

As would the Norse use Loki.

Actually, it's because she's a better fighter. :)

True, but he's still afraid of women. Especially Athena and Hera.

Yeah, I saw that suggested, which is why I suggested Proteus. :)

*shudder* Good point. Now, my question is, what would be the effect of:

Athena + Hera + Aphrodite + Demeter + Persephone + Artemis (the six major female goddesses) be like against the Norse gods (alone) if they were truly pissed off.

To be honest, this fight would probably end in a draw.

Besides, the enemies of Asgard would use this opportunity to launch an attack on them, and Odin and gang would have to break off the fight with Olympus for that reason.

Verilon: Where did you get this idea that Ares is afraid of women? He certainly didn't shrink from Aphrodite. :?

Well, for different reasons. But if he pissed her off enough....well....and I said WOMEN IN GENERAL. He only really liked Aphrodite, and only had Eris around for the Apple of Discord.

They probably couldn't take them all down, but some of them would go down.

I don't know if I would include Persephone, how about Hecate, the goddess of magic?

Hmm. I always got the impression he was afraid of Athena because she could kick his ass, (and Hera, well, you know.)

Oh well.

Hmm....I have never heard much about Hecate. But any and all in the sense of the title. But you know, any of them could have seriously horrid personalities when pissed off. *thinks quiet mormon girls*

Well, she was goddess of the crossroads, but I've heard she was goddess of magic as well, and of the darkness of the moon.

And you're right about their personalities, but they were all pretty much like that. Not a pleasant bunch.

I like their Roman versions better.

Who?
She was an old war goddess who ran with Ares, and one of the Graeae.

She was either his daughter or mother or sister, depending on the myth, I suppose.

Ah. Okay. And yes, the Roman versions are better for most of them.

But what do you think of the Sirens and Harpies? IIRC, Apollo was the only one ever able to fend the Sirens off.

They're pretty cool.

If I recall, Orpheus fended off the Sirens in a sense, since he played his lyre so loudly, it drowned them out, and Odysseus outsmarted them.

Are you kidding me? The Norse gods are mortal, the Greek gods are not. This isn't a real contest.
