Our High School band was an extra in the fine and memorable film SurfII, starring Cleavon Little, Lyle Wagoner, and Ruth Buzzi. I drove Marilyn Manson and Twiggy around Wichita for a couple hours back in '95. It was an experience taking those two to Toys R us .Part of my runner duties was taking Fear Factory to the nudie bar. It was embarassing as hell, these nasty skanks coming around to everyones table begging for tips, we stayed for one beer. Clutch are the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. Star Wars fans too. Sold weed to 311(*gasp* THOSE guys smoke pot?) And no, I`m not a drug dealer, they asked, we found. Met No Doubt, another bunch o' groovy folk. And, the lady who played Mrs. Garret on Facts of Life came to the Theatre I was projectionist at, we were the only theatre in LA showing Pretty Kill, I guess her son in law was the producer.
Life is all the eternity you get, use it wisely.

The best I can thnk of is I've met Joe Cohen several dozen times, he was one of the writers of Minority Report. This is because he lives less then one mile away from me.
I've also met a couple small time directors in the Philadelphia area and am credited in one of there movies, Flowers of Evil, for reviewing the script and offering my thught on it. Only a couple minor changes got made to some dialoug based on my thoughts though.
None of these people is much of a celebrity though.

I saw George Carlin live, but I didn't meet him.
At a book signing, Isaac Asimov kissed my mom full on the lips in front of my dad. Seriously.

Hmmm. Met some of the BC Lions. Got Joe Paopao's autograph. Chatted with Bruce Hart (the Hart family out of Calgary who are heavily involved in wrestling) at the Calgary Stampede while selling tickets. According to my wife, we saw a fairly famous Korean actor on our holiday in Cheju island. What was funny is that people were wearing shorts and T-shirts due to the whether but not this guy. He had on a dark suit.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might if they screamed all the time for no good reason.

Let's see, I saw Al Gore at a Democratic rally at our campus. Never mind I voted for Shrub. And how does George W. Bush repay my kindness? His friggin' limousine ties up traffic and almost makes me late for my final.Frank Hipper wrote:Ever meet anyone famous? Hmmm, what else. I attended a talk by Colin Powell. In terms of celebrities, I am quite deprived. Or something like that.

I've seen Ariel Sharon's limousine, and my dad works with Brian McKnight's father. Forgot those.

Why isn’t that ever an issue of politics? Because you don’t live in a democracy. You live in a plutocracy. Money rules.
