80's Music Videos
I recently watched the movie 13 Going on 30. The DVD included the full videos of Pat Benatar's Love is a Battlefield and Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl.
Damn were those things awful.
On the DVD for Legend there is a music video of some song that played over the end credits for at least the America version of the movie. That video sucked too, plus it made some of the 80's "fashions" more obvious. In particular the jacket with the rolled up sleaves.

The woman in the video of "Hey Mickey" scares the hell out of me.

I always liked Michael Jackson music videos from the '80s... before he completely flaked out. The music video for "Thriller" is an all time classic, and the video for "Bad" was directed by Martin Scorsese, and is pretty entertaining.

Tony Basil clip: one horrible chick whose makeup thicker than M1 Abrams's armor.Gandalf wrote:I don't really know, I saw it a few months ago ant it was definitely 80's.Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman wrote:Which one, the original Tony Basil or the newer, Lolly version?Gandalf wrote:The woman in the video of "Hey Mickey" scares the hell out of me.
Lolly clip: A LOT of horrible chicks would make Spice Girls look tasteful.
Make your pick.

I'm secure enough in my manliness that I can watch the ocassional chick flick or too as long as it is either funny or has a hot chick staring in it. This one had both, although it was only moderately funny.Col. Crackpot wrote:what were you doing watching 13 going on 30, mr. manly man?
On the same note I won't ever watch either of the Briget Jones movies because I can't stand Renee Zelwigger.

The videos for pretty much any song from his Thriller album are generally good. They hardly ever used to show the full version of Thriller because it was so long and that was too bad since the werewolf intro was the cool part.Marksist wrote:I always liked Michael Jackson music videos from the '80s... before he completely flaked out. Beat It was a good video as well. It also was the begining of the Weird Al parody videos, in this case Eat It, that used almost all the same people who orginated in the orginal.
I remember Tom Petty and the Cars having some decent videos from that time.
Phil Collins had that great one for Land of Confusion which had all the look alike puppets for Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.
Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer came out in the 80s too.
The ones that I find pretty hilarious are the lower budget ones that try to get by on the hotness/coolness/hippness of the artists. Considering each of those categories can change over time I just find some of them really funny now. The hair, make up and clothes.
I don't notice it as much if the video is essentially the artist peforming onstage or whatever.
Twisted Sister had some good/funny videos from the early 80s and I can't imagine that they cost a whole lot.
