There is someone who deserves a special shout out, who I didn't mention earlier because I don't think of him as someone I know through a net connection.

The Dude, a good true and good friend, who I've known in the flesh for many a year. He moved out east, we lost contact, and met up again at this board in a serendipitous moment (thanks for asking that particular question Cpl. Kendall).

I must make several empirical tests.

Yes, empirical tests are definitely the way to go, hon. Best to approach it from a scientific standpoint. Absolutely. Very responsible of you. Any idea where you can find some test subjects? :P ;-)

Sorry Rogue, but I think we're screwed. Unless you can think of a way to claim we actually were being fgalkin nice, she's got us by the unmentionables.
Thankfully, 'I' have something at least within sensor range of hailing distance of a way out...

The chance of that working is a million to one, Master Bruce.
The chances of anything coming from Mars were a million to one, too.
*cookie for the reference*
Besides, a million to one chances always work.

The one and only thing I dislike about these threads is I'm terrible at recalling any lists of any notable amount. That and I'm paranoid that if I create a large list it'll look more and more like I dislike certain people. So first of all I'll compliment eveyrone I haven't outright declared is an ass. :P

Now a shout-out to my fellow Iowa Stooges:

-Spanky for being nicer to his friends online, and managing to be far more popular and lovable than an ineloquent stubborn putz should. "I just hate you so much, snarf!"

-DarkPrimus is exceptionally witty and ingenious. One of my more like-minded aquaintances. Poor guy gets no respect.

-Then there's Mayabird whom we all like. I think she and DP are a great couple, she just needs to sex him up more so he'll stop talking about my goddamn penis for once. :P

Hmmm *roots around cluttered hazy memory*...

-I have to mention Lusankya, Duchess, Lindar, Debi, Fey, and other women of the board, for various different reasons. One of which is for making this place not always look/feel/smell like a men's locker room or a Cheetos-encrusted D&D gaming table.

-Mike Wong, for encouraging and inspiring people to learn science and to not pretend they understand subjects when they don't. And yes, his debates are still insightful and entertaining to read even if you're not a newbie. Also I have to thank him for participating on this board far more than I ever originally thought he would.

-This board's moderation is the best I've seen. No shady unfair rulings, no sissy wrist-slapping, even all but the most worthless of shit is kept around for examination, be it on a pike by the roadside or in a little shoebox in the garage. Dalton and Fgalkin for one because they're swell. And generally for being women, therefore making an otherwise boring universe alot more interesting.

(I realize that as a shout-out, this list should include aol-speak throughout. I'm too lazy, so feel free to cut and paste from this list: "lolz!", "lmao", "j0 p33ps!" "Westside, nevah di3!!1","kthxbye" and "r0ffl3omgzbbq", in no particular order)

-Frank Hipper is fucking swell.

-I have to thank Alfred because evidently Batman has not. Them multiple personalities get no respect...

-Rouge 9 for putting up with a lot of shit and still being sane and nice. Also for getting an online persona distinct from the other Rogue.

-Jedineophyte. He rocks.

And finally, most of all, because we all already feel it and know it deep down inside:

I thank Myself.
You're welcome.
By His Word...

Well, I do that to women. (this makes two I think, which means that I am technically correct in using the word "women")

--

Like blood from a stone, you people have managed to extract the following from me. This is all you're getting.

Zaia. She's cool and funny. This fulfills my primary criteria for an engaging interaction.
Dalton, Crayz, Phong, Eleas, Sheppard, et al., aka "The Posse," who are in the good books for reasons that should require no explanation. If I failed to specifically mention anybody from the old days, you are contained in the "et al." which is all the better you deserve.
The Duchess of Zeon gets special mention for being really smart.

LIST ENDS

Notes--
Despite his sterling characteristics, Darth Wong has been omitted from the list because he probably has enough people drooling over him already.

A number of people are no doubt omitted because I forgot them. But if I forgot them they probably weren't worth it anyway. (I'm looking at you, Stravo.)

Rob and Zaia, the patron saints of sdnet; and Frank Hipper, my long lost bizarro world twin; thanks to all three of you for your compassion and putting up with my passion off of the board, crest and trough alike. You guys rock.

The N&P gang, but esp the SLAM gang: sdnet has opened many doors for me, unlocked many puzzles. I am smarter because of you. Thank you.

Oh, and a prop to Wicked Pilot, for reminding me what an arse I can be at times. I'd drink expresso with you any time.

Well, I need to keep an impartial, detached and above all dispassionate attitude, so I figure I'd buy myself a high-powered telescope. That, or possibly go undercover as a female. You know what they say, "if you got it, flaunt it"... :)

While I like and enjoy pretty much everyone on this board, there are a few people I'd like to extend special props to...

IlluminatusPrimus, for being bloody brilliant, helpful, and just generally The Man.

RedImperator, for being equally brilliant, helpful, and The Man.

Durandal, PatrickDegan, Stravo, and PabloSanchez, for always having intelligent, well-thought out posts that are enjoyable to read.

Shep, for being highly entertaining and bringing some enjoyable color to the board.

Elfdart, for being highly entertaining and bringing balance to The Political Force, as it were.

Kuroneko and the Duchess, for being far too dazzlingly intelligent to describe.

Talen, and he knows why.

Superman, for being the funniest fucking person in the universe.

frigidmagi, for his endearing and stalwart refusal to properly use the word "as". His posts are always intelligent and thoughtful.

I've finally managed to gather a list of everyone... I hope...

Wong, not only do you host this wonderful board Nit addicted me to, but you were one of the few to mail us a wedding gift. People ask us about it all the time! :)

The BlackMages: Kuja, Frigid, Cyran, Aly, Elheru, and WhiteHaven. *blows kisses* I know I don't talk to all of you like I used to, but I still lub you all.

The Couples: The Kendals, Jmac & Aerius, DP & Maya.

Batman: Always a pleasure to talk to, and annoy. He brings out the feline in me. meow.

The Sisterhood: Zaia, IB, Lindar, Edi, Broomstick, Metron, Morrigan, Duchess, Maya .... gah I know I'm forgetting someone! It's great having such ladies to talk with, commiserate with, and bitch about the men with. ;) Oh, and Zaia? I've been sewing more dresses for the SCA, I'll see if Nit can post some pictures. :D

YB and Lagmonster: My fellow 'old timers'. I love just chatting with you both, commiserating about work and health with Bear, and sharing stories with Lag.

JME2: Your writing is fantastic. I love a great story, and Batman's always been a favorite of mine. Keep up the great work.

Einy: You make me laugh, and that's the best gift of all.

Keevan: We share a lot of interests, like swords, SCA, good mead.... I hope you chose Marshall U. :D

Rogue 9, GhostRider, Zentei, Walker, Valdemar: I don't get to talk to you boys nearly enough, but when I do I've enjoyed myself.

Nitram. M'love, thank you for introducing me to this board, and to our many friends here. :luv:
Image
Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.
