Ever Had a video game tune stuck in your head????
Well?
Notable songs for me are "1000 words" from FFX-2 (It was stuck in my head for three months straight, nearly drove me insane. To this date, I have not replayed X-2.)
The one stuck in my head right now is the track from the final mission of Ace Combat 5 (When the SOLG falls and you have to destroy it). It's not nearly as bad as the last one, but Dammit! I want it out.
Any advice?

Sing it until it's stuck in someone else's head. Then it will magically leave yours.
BTW, I had the same problem with 1000 Words.

Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

The Safer Sephiroth theme from FFVII.
Catchy tune, even if I can't understand a thing they're saying.

Good to know it wasn't just me.....
I just remembered, I actually posted here asking for help when I had "1000 Words" stuck in my head.
Somebody called it "The Minmei effect"

It takes almost no work to put 1250 vg remix mp3s on my HDD. How could I not take advantage of that?
FF songs don't stick so much for me as Castlevania or Kirby or something I've never played but heard as a remix. OTOH, songs from FF6 and 7 do pop up from time to time, but those are the only ones I've played a significant fraction of. It's not really my game type.
Recently something from Actraiser, which I've never played, is stuck in my head.
This reminds me. Why does it seem like no one can make a good Starfox remix? I've heard a few decent ones, but none are really all that great, and there aren't that many total.

Did you remember the game Digger during the 8088 (XT) era?
Well, the music is nothing more than PC speaker beeps, but keep listening to it could drive you crazy (I mean, look at me now).
There's also a remake you could download here for free.

All the time, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Heck, I've used some game music to drive out horrible songs that got stuck in my head.

Game music is my ever-haunting demon - and as a game and music freak, I love every minute of it. My SPC collection's enormous, and what with the various utilities available, I can rip music from quite a few game formats as I see fit.
The typical day passes with at least the following popping into my head:
Four Noble Devils I & II (Romancing SaGa III)
More or less every single track from Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie (except Minmay's song during Stage 5 - yech)
Jakyou Manor themes from Shin Megami Tensei I & II
Force Selection, stage 1, main boss, and stage 5 boss themes from R-Type III - The Third Lightning
Psycho Killing!!, Sound of Patience, The Wanderer, and Go! Go! Buriki Daioh! from Live-a-Live (You gotta love a campy giant robot theme)
Warning 2, Edel Ritter, and Nature (Front Mission: Gun Hazard)
And a whole bunch more I can't fit in because my class is in five minutes...
Right now: the music from stage 1 of Radix: Beyond the Void

The music from Rome Total War constantly runs in my head particularly after a long marathon session running late into the night. I just wish I could find some Mp3's of the music to listen to on my iPod.

Tell me you don't get a rush when you face an army dwarfing your own and you command your men like an Alexander and beat them into a pulp, take their city the next turn and put them to the fucking sword. Yes. This game is very bad for would be Hitlers.Crown wrote:Great. Generally speaking I can't deny that. But most tactical battle maps just piss me off by default, so I get greater pleasure when I see the stratigic map, with a large swath of it painted in my colour .... The only reason I worry is because of the FFX-2 incident. When I say the song was stuck in my head for 2 months straight, I'm not exaggerating. It really was in there for two months straight. It nearly drove me insane. I had to go through a freakish purging ritual to get it out.Destructionator XIII wrote:Yeah, I do exactly the same thing. I decided I would use the worst Sci-fi in existance to burn it from my mind altogether.
In a several hour long marathon, I watched "Battlefield Earth," "Star Trek: Generations," "Star Trek: Nemesis," and "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation." When it was over, the song was gone, but I barely had any cognitive functions.....

Any of the TIE Fighter combat sequence music. It makes fantastic mental background music, and it purges annoying songs from my head in no time flat.
Interesting side note: I've finally managed to extract all the fifty or so 2-20 second MIDI sequences. Next step will be to convert them all to WAV files, and then stitch them together into MP3s. Mind you, this will be MP3s that sound like high-quality MIDI, but *shrug*.

As for me, the Halo track "Rock Anthem for Saving the World" and the subsequent Mjolnir Mix for Halo 2 are excessively catchy and I'll walk around humming them to myself from time to time.

I get VG music stuck in my head all the time, especially Mario and Zelda.
Sometimes, though, it won't just be music. During high school, I would get the entire first world of Super Mario Bros. stuck in my head during class. Is it bad that I have it memorized well enough for that to happen?
