phasers continous beam

Post by USSvalor »

could a jedi deflect a continous phaser beam...
i said deflect... not block with a force shield or delflect with a force shield
could he block all the continous beams?

P.S. no force using besides the light saber...

Multiple beams, no.

But definitely a single phaser beam.

Of course, while the multiple beams are killing or stunning him, his fellow Jedi have gotten within lightsaber range of the Feddies, slicing their phasers up into little pieces.

almost certainly not more than one continuous beam, with just the saber.

However, don't forget that Darth Vader stopped multiple blaster bolts from Han's DL-44 (not a small gun) with his hand in TESB. Granted, Vader was extremely powerful, and probably not all jedi could do that, but it's still something that can't be ignored. A sufficently powerful jedi may very well be able to take a full-on shot by either blaster or phaser, and remain unharmed.

Good suggestion, why not listen to it?

Indeed Corran Horn who is talented in that area(But not extremly so) is able to withstand them as easily as Vadar did and from mutiple sources

He could have phrased it better, but it did not seem malicious.

I see your point. It is insulting. The response was a bit heavy-handed though.

I thought it was Vader's glove that withstood the blaster shots, you know, since it seems to be armored, or maybe I'm wrong here.

I'm sure Vader blocked Han Solo's blaster shots with the force. In ANH we see how powerful his blaster is.

I think you're wrong. I think it's stated in the novel that he did use the Force to stop the shots. In any case, the Force has been used in the past by various Force-wielders for similar purposes.

That really can't work, since it would require a material that can withstand blaster bolts, yet still be thin and flexible enough to make a glove out of.

For number of continuous beams a lightsabre can deflect, the max against different beam from different angles should actually be two, not just one (picture the lightsabre as a line connecting two dots). And if the beams were aimmed at the same place, then a lot more.

But they didn't explode against the wall. They stopped at his hand.

Special effects f$#$#-up?
Maybe Lucas changed it to enhance Vader Force abilities.
