Movies that everyone hated but you really liked

Post by Lagmonster »

I must have some seriously bad taste or something. There are a lot of movies that I loved, but everyone else hates for some reason. And my friends think, subsequently, that *I'm* crazy for liking any of these:

Fletch Lives
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
The Ice Pirates
Jake Speed
Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human

I love these shows! They might suck, but I just can't see it. Anyone care to share any titles that they really loved but that everyone else thinks sucked rabid donkey?

I usually disagree with critics. I enjoyed all the Adam Sandler movies they slammed, like Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, and Happy Gilmore.

One of the all time guilty pleasure movies for me is Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. I don't know why, I just really like the whole cool bouncer thing, there's so much cheesiness in this movie but I love it and whenever its on TV no matter what else I'm watching I abandon it in favor of this fine flick. Don't ask why, it just is that way.

I *liked* Insurrection because I didn't try to look to deeply into the movie. I don't call it a great movie and it certainly has its faults, but I enjoyed watching it.

Kung Pow Enter The Fist was a damned funny movie, REALLY stupid, but funny.

I also loved Ski Patrol, come to think of it. My friends hated that to the point of having me beat up with pillows for having rented it, followed by forcing me to walk through the snow to return it to the rental store for, but I loved the hell out of it just the same. Err, the movie, not the beating and torture.

Oh and Unbreakable Almost forgot that. My sisters hated it and left me with very poor expectations for that film. But when I watched it with my lowed expectations, I really liked it alot! It was better than what my sisters led me to believe, but maybe it was their influence that made my like it.

Ravenous was much better than I expected, given its lukewarm reviews. And I love The Abyss, which got absolutely slated in some quarters.

I woundn't say I really liked, but Wing Commander seems to be hated by many, I enjoyed it. Nothing can beat the awesome power of the Space MiG

True. I didn't love it at all, it needed a lot of story and character development. But I really liked David Arnold's Main title theme.

ST: TMP - Although is slow, I like to see the return of Kirk to command Enterprise.
ST: TFF - A new look into Kirk's character, and Spock in command of the Klingons.
ST: I - Aw heck, I swittched of my brain and enjoyed the space battle.

I don't know why some critics would hate "The Big Lebowski", its a good movie... hmm, I liked Blues Brothers 2000 which seemed to get critical crap. Thats about it for now that I can think of.

Welll critics didn't IIRC, but they are braindead anyway. I love Hook and everything about it.

Hook is awesome too, by the way. :D

No one secretly loves "Cannibal Women In The Avocado Jungle Of Death" though? :( Pity. It's a classic.
