Congratulations!
You have been awarded the TPM medal of distinction! This is our second highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.
The fact that you progressed through this activity being hit only once and biting very few bullets suggests that your beliefs about God are well thought out and almost entirely internally consistent.
The direct hit you suffered occurred because one set of your answers implied a logical contradiction. The bitten bullets occurred because you responded in ways that required that you held views that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. At the bottom of this page, we have reproduced the analyses of your direct hit and bitten bullets.
Because you only suffered one direct hit and bit very few bullets, you qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!

Took this before. The problem with it is it assumes too much when you answer.Yogi wrote:http://www.philosophers.co.uk/games/god.htm

Damn word play. I agree to the possibility that there may be certain problems with evolution theory, now they claim I said the existance of evolution was in question. Proving something's existance, and knowing 100% about it are two different matters. I consider the evidence for evolution's existance as irrevocable, at least as irrevocable as the existance of the computer in front of me. My own theories about how the computer works might be wrong, but that doesn't alter the fact that the computer exists.... so there is no problem. You may have just taken a direct hit!
You stated earlier that evolutionary theory is essentially true. However, you have now claimed that it is foolish to believe in God without certain, irrevocable proof that she exists. The problem is that there is no certain proof that evolutionary theory is true - even though there is overwhelming evidence that it is true. So it seems that you require certain, irrevocable proof for God's existence, but accept evolutionary theory without certain proof. So you've got a choice:
Bite a bullet and claim that a higher standard of proof is required for belief in God than for belief in evolution.
Take a hit, conceding that there is a contradiction in your responses.

You're getting that contradiction because you believe the theory of evoilution to be true, even though it is just a theory with strong supporting evidence (natural selection, paleontology). We can't prove conclusively that macro scale evolution takes place, as we haven't been watching for long enough to measure it taking place.
However you require absolute and 100% cast iron proof for the existance of God.
You already believe one thing WITHOUT cast iron proof, but require it for another.
Personally, I took one hit and bit two bullets, but I don't remember what they were..

One bullet, no direct hits. This test is limited to be sure, but my guess is that fundies would take four or five hits at least.

Answered in the way I think a fundie would answer:
You took 1 direct hit and you bit 4 bullets. The average player of this activity to date takes 1.35 hits and bites 1.09 bullets. 76195 people have so far undertaken this activity.
However,
You have been awarded the TPM service medal! This is our third highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

Battleground Analysis
Congratulations!
You have been awarded the TPM medal of distinction! This is our second highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.
The fact that you progressed through this activity without being hit and biting only one bullet suggests that your beliefs about God are internally consistent and well thought out.
A direct hit would have occurred had you answered in a way that implied a logical contradiction. The bitten bullet occurred because you responded in a way that required that you held a view that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, because you bit only one bullet and avoided direct hits completely you still qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!

I took no hits, bit one bullet.
My hunch is that the test is arranged in such a way as to make it impossible to get through without biting a bullet. I took the test three times (not a fair sample, I know), the first ime answering as I believe and the other two times trying to make things perfectly coherent (once as an atheist, once as a fundamentalist). Each time, I bit one bullet; the atheist took it on evolution (requiring a higher standard for God than evolution, according to the test), and the fundamentalist took it on the question about the serial killer who thought he was doing God's work. I also bit a bullet on that one, but not for the same reasons. I said that, in the absence of evidence, it is acceptable to base beliefs on a feeling, in my mind thinking of foundational beliefs (such as the existence of the outside world or other minds). When I then said that the serial killer wasn't doing the will of God, it had me bite a bullet. There seems to be some equivocation on "belief" there.

This test assumes too much and ignores possible contradictions and levels of morality.

Hey, not bad! Hosed it-- according to the game-- on the need for outside evidence. I see no contradiction with using outside evidence to confirm beliefs about science and rationality while ignoring evidence of God-- since (as I've stated many times before on the board) that belief relies on faith; which has no correlation whatsoever with evidence and admittedly makes no sense to an outside observer...

You have been awarded the TPM service medal! This is our third highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.
The fact that you progressed through this activity without suffering many hits and biting no bullets suggests that whilst there are inconsistencies in your beliefs about God, on the whole they are well thought-out.
The direct hits you suffered occurred because some of your answers implied logical contradictions. At the bottom of this page, we have reproduced the analyses of your direct hits. How did you do compared to other people?
76208 people have completed this activity to date.
You suffered 2 direct hits and bit zero bullets.
This compares with the average player of this activity to date who takes 1.35 hits and bites 1.09 bullets.
37.67% of the people who have completed this activity have, like you, been awarded the TPM Service Medal.
7.70% of the people who have completed this activity emerged unscathed with the TPM Medal of Honour.
47.34% of the people who have completed this activity took very little damage and were awarded the TPM Medal of Distinction.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!
