Do Berman and Braga EVER look at boards like this?

Post by Perinquus »

I wonder. I really do. Do you suppose they might ever look at boards like this one, and others, to see what the fan reaction to that drivel they shovel out is? Writers often try to get some feedback from the fans. Do you think they ever look at things like we post here? If so, do they pay it any mind? Or do they think to themselves: "Hah, when those people can make loads of money writing for television like we do, then we'll take their suggestions."?

What I'm really wondering is, do they even have any idea how many fans they've alienated with that garbage they spew? Do they have any idea how much most of the more intelligent fans think they are screwing up what was once a truly great concept?

Considering I have trouble taking people on these kinds of boards seriosuly, I REALLY doubt that TV execs would even bother.

Doubtful...because aside from one's that even do basic critism, seem to do nothing to there apparent lack of skills.

They still make the same mistakes...constantly.

I think Bragga's handle was "dark" something or other, but he was banned.

they might look at them from time to time but I can't see them seriously giving the fans thoughts any seriuos consideration.
Were B&B brought on for there liking of trek or for just general writing skills?

JMS used to.

Which is possibly why people actually LIKED Babylon 5.

Probably the same thing B&B are thinking when they write their episodes:

Hmmm that is a very good question. They obviously don't like Trek, and they obviously have terrible writing skills.

Seriously, if they did like Trek it wouldn't be seen just as a cash cow to them.

No kidding. If Roddenberry had a grave, they'd be stomping on it, and trying to bury TOS episode master copies down there with him.

Didn't they get really bitchy after a whole bunch of fans flooded Paramount with letters about a phaser beam coming out of the torpedo bay in TNG?

Something to the effect of "Hell, we didn't even know what a torpedo bay was until now!"

Who knows. Maybe he's here!

Actually, he almost certainly isn't. But that's beside the point. The point is that B&B suck at giving people what they want because they don't know what people want. Even if they did know what people wanted, they would probably still suck.

Conspiracy time!

B&B Star Trek, and want to ruin it for future generations, so they infiltrated the ranks, and took control. Only an armed revolt can stop them.

Consiracy #2!

B&B doesn't exist. They're little more than a bunch of monkeys on typrewriters. However, this is less likely, since the writing skills of a monkey are far greater than that of B&B.

Ah. I think I've stumbled into the wrong thread. I'll leave now.
But first, B&B can't pay attention to boards like this one. I refuse to believe that they can be stupid enough to turn out crap even with fan input.

It's known that either Bozo and Binbrain or their minions read at least some of the online Trek forums. In an interview with one of the sci-fi rags they were quite indignant about their <cough> 'reputation.' A quote that comes to mind is "they actually think Rick and I are morons!"

I think it'd be interesting to see the results of a poll regarding viewer opinions of the producers.

Why doesn't it surprise me that they'd be indignant at the fans for not "getting" their show, rather than thinking that maybe it's they who are out of touch. I mean really, if you think you're shit hot at writing for TV, and hundreds, even thousands of people think you stink to high heaven, what are the odds that you're the one on the right track here?
