I'm very tempted to call for a realistic HAB re-write of the MoD budget. Would be more entertaining than chucking a few trillion dollars around.

HAB, budgeting? Why would HAB allow its military procurement to be so artificially constrained by such a capitalist creation? HAB has abolished the budget, abolished money and it now grows without limits towards the Objective Future Interim Full Omni Capability Force Structure Deployment.

The state of the MoD is not THAT bad. Our capabilites today are greater than they have been, our budget is going up and cutbacks and being done to phase out obsolete parts (designed war war against the Soviets) and bring in new, future, procurement. Yes, our carriers are on track for development.

We could take on the Frogs for the simple reason that our navy, even if it is going to be smaller, is BETTER than theirs pound for pound.

We can certainly deal with the Argentinians, and our capability to do so will only increase in future years when we begin to phase in new aircraft and vessels. Not to mention the fact that Argentina's economic situation is so fucked up that their armed forces are in an even sorrier situation, these days, in comparison to us than back in 82.

Stop with all the silly apocalyptic nonsense. The UK armed forces are going through some radical changes, they're not being phased out.

Remember when the Green Party put forth their proposal for their MoD pruning and it turned out they'd just have a coast guard force of little more than armed Arun class boats. If we ever needed more power, we'd lease it off some ally. Bra-fucking-o.

The German Greens are far more powerful than UK Greens, but we don't see them doing stupid things like totally axing the armed forces. It's one thing to pander to the hippies and tree-huggers when you're a tiny party, but responsiblity does usually bring about a bit of sense.

German Greens actually stand a chance in hell thanks to your proportional system. OUR system leaves nutbags like them out in the cold.
