Well I just found thisitem on eBay. The seller said it burned out the CPU somehow, but when he checked with overclockers.co.uk they said it's working fine.

This was a new motherboard from my pc and for some reason burned out my cpu and was checked with overclockers.co.uk who said that it is working fine! but I already have another motherboard by then! so did'nt need this one..... So if it works then fine? you got yourself a really good deal here!!!! but if it does not? then thats up too you? never did check to see if it was ok as I already stated that I already had another motherboard by the time it was returned....
So how much is the risk I'm buying a non-functional Mobo? How does a Mobo burn the CPU, by the way? Is that a sign of Mobo malfunction, or just a wrong settings all the way? And would the Mobo also be damaged after the CPU burns? I'm pretty much a newbie in hardware stuff. Thanks!
Sounds to me like a cooling issue. Not that I'm an expert, mind you, but if he wasn't making sure his CPU was cooling properly, then he could well have fried it.
*shrugs* I'm always dubious of Ebay electronics, though. I prefer stuff like returnability and warranties.

But would the CPU burn affect the Mobo itself? Or how much likely? Thanks!

Since one of my hobbies is hunting old hardware (like Voodoo5 5500 and A7V333 Mobo to put the Voodoo on), guess I don't have many choices...

Eee... not sure, really. Those damn CPUs get pretty hot. Definitely time to ask somebody who knows more about fixing computers than breaking them.

Just start enacting your TGOD antics with Aly from Rogue's forum in the middle of an electronics store. They'll probably give you anything you want just to get you to leave.

Ah, you probably refer to this thread? See the poll option. If you're imaginative enough, you can do funny things with a graphic board.
Back with the topic, though, Ace just replied my PM. He told me the Mobo looks fine. I hope he's right. I just wonder how likely a CPU burn-out would render the Mobo non-functional. I hope the Mobo is fine, though. Either it'll be the best deal in my life (less than five dollars, baby!), or I have to make up more imaginations about what to do with a non-functional Mobo.
