Voyager was the show that destroyed Star Trek
I don't know why people become offended when I say this, but "Star Trek Voyager" was the beginning of the end for Trek. Thanks to Voyager, the Borg were wussified and made into the villain of the week, the Q became just another alien, Warp 10 was achieved, vulcans no longer had the super strength that they once had, they managed to find the ONLY two Ferengi in the entire quadrant... the list goes on. Basically, what I am saying is that Voyager ruined any sort of continuity that was ever established.
Not to mention the fact that the cast was probably the worst ever assembled. Hell, they could have dressed up the cast of "Friends" in Starfleet uniforms and they would have done a better job.

Oh my... Why did I not see this before? You mean the years that I have spent watching the series have been pointless? Naw... Everybody already knows this. Pointless to make a thread pointing it out. Oh and poke.bozman wrote:I don't know why people become offended when I say this, but "Star Trek Voyager" was the beginning of the end for Trek. You mean Voyager is a stinking pile of dog shit? How could have I not known this before? Thank you for showing me the light! [/sarcasm]

The cast wasn't too bad. They might not have been the best actors in the world, but even the best could not have saved the atrocious writing.bozman wrote:Not to mention the fact that the cast was probably the worst ever assembled. Voyager wasn't really that bad. The cast was great, I mean, Neelix was a laugh a minute, Janeway was HOT, and the whole Chakotay/7of9 thing was the most realistic sci-fi romance I've ever seen.

You have no IDEA how hard it was to write that. Voyager was horrible. I can't believe I made it through half the first season without gagging.
Oh, and by the way...
Welcome, stoat!

Weren't most of those good eps Doctor episodes?

Dudes, the guy hates Voyager. That's good enough for me to say: "Welcome to the boards Bozman"
I would add, that the downfall of the borg began with First Contact (regardless of how fun to watch it is). First Contact introduced the Borg Queen. Now this unstoppible enemy, that didn't listen to reason, that was driven by a single purpose, was given human characteristics. B&B needed an enemy that would appeal to the mass market, the techno-terror that *was* the borg wouldn't cut it. Too many people wouldn't get it. B&B created the Borg Queen, a clear villian that the audience coud see and relate to. The borg were under her control. She'd fight and seduce the crew. She could be seen as greedy, jealous, evil. Data could trick the Queen because of her arrogance and human need for a companion. She'd scream in anger as her plan was thwarted, giving the audience the satisfaction they wanted... this all leads to Janeway being able to reason and outwit the borg.
A good movie, but a really bad directing for the borg.

Actually the Borg Queen could have worked had she been the ONLY one in FC and that her loss destroyed the Borg. That would mean the Queen is the chossen body and will of the entire Collective and her death kills the Borg. That would have meant no Voyager Borg other then the first encounter with the former Borg colony.Zoink wrote:Dudes, the guy hates Voyager. I would have to disagree on that on one point; Much of the acting on DS9 was a hell of a lot better. Even though they had a lot drivel on that show, as a whole you had good actors who made stories that if on Voyager would have made you shoot yourself, somewhat watchable. I think Avery Brooks is an excellent actor and I think there were many episodes were he showed that talent. The only one on Voyager that showed any kind of talent to me was the Doctor.

I will say you are right about Avery Brooks, he is a great actor. But my personal feelings are DS9 was not that good. They kept using the prophets of Bajor thing. I will say one of the best eps of DS9 was when Ben Sisko and his sun re-built that solar sailer, that was just cool.
Voyager had a lot of problems but, it was not all that bad. Yes Lameway should have been shot, but overall the show was not that bad. Please do not flame me to much for saying this.
