Avalon system

The Stuartian fleet had formed into a shell formation, the huge behemoths sheltered in the midst.
Target solutions were being prepared, STL and hypermissiles readied.
Finally, the fleet spoke.
"This is Fleet Consensus," the incorporeal voice sounded out. "Corsair fleet, you will leave now, or we will be prepared to engage and destroy you. You are vastly outnumbered. Logic would dictate your actions. It is your choice."
A more female voice went on, "And rest assured, our government is fully intact and present. I am still present, in one form or the other," the unmistakeable voice of CEO Gladstone said.

The fourth fleet hovered in the void as the commanding officers for both sides made their grievances and opinions heard. The exchanges were cordial, each trying to sway the other of the merits of its words. Of course, with the amount of firepower that both fleets possessed, a disagreement could potentially turn fatal for thousands of naval officers and personnel. Admiral Nureis was keenly aware of that fact, and she listened closely to everything her counter part had to say.

Within the bowels of her ship, the crew barely whispered to each other as they awaited the end of negotiations one way or another. The personnel that had access to the sensor feeds, focused on the hulking structures which made up each individual psychopath in silent awe; It was one thing to see something in Indashani sensor logs, and intelligence files and another to see one up close and personal. It seemed uglier than he remembered, but at the same time infinitely more menacing. The scorch marks which were picked up on the ship’s hulls displayed proudly.

“What do you think our chances are?” The words from the young lieutenant were barely above a whisper and meant for his counter part next to him.

”Fair. Individually, this ship would not be able to defeat a Psychopath. I don’t think any ship in the stars today can. However, when it comes to fleet actions that changes things a bit. Our force correlations are close, it can go either way.” His words were a muted whisper as well.

”So we can win this?” The tone was hopeful.

”We have to win it if it comes to that. Although right now, the best way to win is not to play the game. I hope we can talk our way out.” The whisper was laced with optimism. They had made an alliance with the Stuarts he knew that, but the ink was not even dry yet. He did not like the idea of dying for a people, he barely knew. Nonetheless, he knew his duty and he would carry it out. Nonetheless, seeing the menacing shapes of those three Psychopaths made him feel as if he was a cadet back in the academy.

Admiral Nureis considered her options before her lips parted and she was once more, trying to sway two fleets with words.

”Commodore Vorn, I hope that next time we will meet under better circumstances.” Her voice was firm and neutral, but there was genuine regret just beneath the surface. She had spent years preparing for conflict, and she had taken that task seriously. Nonetheless, this had not been how she had expected to start a possible conflict with the Corsair republic. A moment later, she continued.

”If the restoration of order is what you desire, then we are willing to work together to that end. However, I hope that you can see how your demands may give other nations the wrong impression. As far as I am aware, the Corsair Republic does not have a treaty with the Stuart Corporation. We do. Like you, we have no desire for external influences to affect our friends in the Stuart Corporation. As such, we believe that we are the logical tools to restore order to the Stuart Corporation. In this task, we would be willing to compromise and work with you, so that you are satisfied that no…foreign interference will take place within the Stuart corporation.”

The three fleets hung in space, the Psychopaths still far and aware the largest and most powerful. Yet now, they were outnumbered, and it was possible that the Corsairs could be driven off. Yet, bravado held.

"It seems that the forecasts that ghostless copies of the government may be around.. And that they would be poor decisionmakers.. Were correct. Congratulations, CEO. With your fleet here, there is nothing standing between the Entente's so-called peacekeeping fleet and your civilians. Congratulations. Your fervor has brought us long strides closer to what we all fear."

The transmission again addressed the Sabai. "We all seek the same thing, then. A stable, united West against outsiders. You know us, Sabai. You know we are not conquerers. It is not our nature, nor our history. However, I can encourage the House of Overlords to consider mediation in this conflict." A pause. "Now. We should adjourn closer to Stuart space, before more Entente forces enter the quadrant."

UTR and FSA pledge support of PLC

Sources report that the joint UTR/FSA mission to meet with the Gorn Provisional Leadership Council has gone very well. The GPLC has laready agreed to a free trade agreement witht eh FSA and UTR. Ships flying the flag of any one of those nations will be allowed free transit across space belonging to any of the previous powers.

Another agreement has been reached regarding the Gorns precarious internal situation. Neither the UTR nor FSA wishes to become involved in an internal Gorn problem, but both recognize that other star nations will not be so principled and have agreed to a draft mutual defense treaty. Any nation crossing into Gorn space without the permission of the GPLC to be an act of war with the Gorn Federation, and also with the Free Star Alliance and United Terran Republic.

The United Terran Republic and Free Star Allaince are both very disapointed in the recent actions of the Relam of the Knights Templar and the Shoom Solidarity as well as those of the nations of the Fenris Solidarity. In response to that hostile and unppoductive stance the UTR and FSA is declaring its space off limits to all ships flying the flags of those nations, and is also stopping all trade with those nations. The UTR calls upon its allies in the Quadrauple Entente to follow suit and embargo those nations.

Update from the Klingon Front

The War Department today released information that Task Forces 61 and 62 have struck at two additional Klingon worlds. This means that the UTRN and UTRA have now occupied five Klingon worlds, are landing troops on eight more worlds, and is currently assaulting two more systems.

War Department sources report that Klingon resistance is crumbling and that each target world seems to fall faster and easier. The Klingon Empire effectively no longer exists as a star nation, and is now to be called the Terran Occupation Zone. Marshall Frederick Halburton has been apppointed militrary governer of the Occupation Zone.

The arrival of the Stuart forces had not gone unnoticed. A channel was opened and pleasantries exchanged, before the Admiral focused on the heart of the matter. The arrival of the Stuart forces made things easier and more difficult at once. It made things easier, by throwing the balance of power more clearly to the Stuart and Sabai side. It complicated matter, because it would be rude to keep the Stuart commanding officer out of the loop with the current negotiations and the Stuarts would certainly complicate the bargaining process.

The admiral had received information pointing out that Corporate Sectors were inbound towards Stuart territory. The information lent more weight to the Corsair idea that it was possible that the entente was behind the sudden crisis within Stuart society. It was all conjecture however; even now Sabai intelligence had no idea what exactly had caused the problems. The file on the Entente and its capabilities was thin, but so was the file on the Corsair Republic. The words from the Commodore to the Stuarts caught and considered.

When the Commodore spoke to her, the admiral listened and refrained from speaking out of turn. In her mind, the Black Alliance had been great opportunists but that would be rude irregardless of the truth the words may have held. The Commodore seemed to be relenting, and with a non-military solution within reach she was unwilling to let it slip away.

”It seems that we do Commodore; all that remains is for us to work together to that end. We are willing to work with you to solve the crisis within Stuart space.” She considered for a moment and nodded. “And I am willing to move my fleet closer to Stuart space.” She had no love for the Entente, but that could be her bias against the Kzin in particular. A channel opened to the Stuart commanding officer before the existing channel to the Corsairs was politely closed for a moment.

“I believe that it is in our best interest to pull back closer to your territory. If nothing else, we will be closer to your system defenses should the worse occur.”

Assuming that a consensus was reached, the fourth Sabai fleet would jump alongside the Stuart and Corsairs forces to their new destination.

"Admiral," the voice of fleet consensus answered, "we agree. We relocate this...meeting to the outer bounds of the Avalon system. We will await your arrival."
Without any other signs, the Stuart fleet vanished. It was just a short hop for the fleet and so they emerged nearly instantaneous in high orbit around Avalon and waited for the others to arrive.

North of the Klingon Empire

With the recent instabilties in the Gorn Federation the UTR had been forced to reconsider its deployments. With the Klingon War the UTR had tried to bring the war to a quick and decisive end by pouring ships into Klingon Space as fast as it could without leaving the UTR itself vulnerable. Unfortunately the Gorn situation had heated up quicker then expected, and the Klingon War wasn't quite over yet.

So there was going to have to be a change. Fifth Fleet had been withdrawn from active operations in Klingon space and was being sent to back up the Gorn Provisional Leadership Council in its attempts to protect its soveriegn space from potential invaders. The Free Star Alliance was also diverting its four Carrier Groups from the Klingon Blockade and they were being attached to Fifth Fleet.

Battleflorces 1,2,4, the full components of Battlefleet Shoom, slipped from Hyperspace in orbit of the second planet of System 67- homeworld of this species known as Nog-sshah, who were violently resisting the loving caress of the collective.

But they would be subdued.

The system defenses were composed of 54 small vessels- primitive, weak vessels. The Solidarity, with retinue, flew forward into their defense lines, cutting through ships like butter.
Battleforce Ascension swung to the flanks of the enemy, smashing their torpedo-boats to atoms.
Battleforce Hatred took the brunt of the enemy fire, as many vessels were forced to move back to prevent their shields from buckling. But this strategy could not always work. The enemy's dreadnaughts focused all firepower on an Eddise-class cruiser, and the shields buckled before it could move back. Railguns tore through the hull like tissue paper, plama weapons ate through the armour, revealing the skeletal superstructure before its hypermatter reactor detonated, mercifully ending its existence.

But by now the enemy fleet had been decimated. The Solidarity moved into position above the capital and began to transport down mechanized infantry squadrons and collective nodes. The people would now know peace.

Wanton use of warships to enforce civil disturbances in nearby nations is, at the very least, disruptive to all trade in the region. If the Corsair Republic truly wishes to diffuse this situation, the Blue Order recommends the Corsair Republic use it's resources in a more productive and civilized manner. The Blue Order suggests that if the Corsair Republic's interests are to restore order to the Stuart Corporation, it will work with the Stuart Corporation to solve its problems in ways that do not involve military action.

Warships mulling around Avalon will not solve any problems, indeed they will merely scare off trade, raise tensions, and even create more civil problems. If the Republic's interest is in improving the state of the somewhat isolated west, than the Blue Order suggests the Corsair Republic remove it's warships from the region.

Why the Corsair Republic shows disapproval with trade to the core and the east is simply beyond the Blue Order's comprehension, it is a decidedly provincial attitude, the Blue Order sees the galaxy as a far more cosmopolitan place. Galactic trade is critical, rather than remaining in isolation from the rest of the galaxy the west should, and has been, working on building trade with other parts of the galaxy.

The Blue Order is more than willing to help the Stuart Corporation and the Corsair Republic mediate any problems they have, and hopes all foreign warships will have reason to depart Stuart Corp. space as soon as possible.

The Blue Order is again advised to get it's facts straight before it continues this laughable attempt at warning off a power far more powerful than it. The Corsair Republic, the Sabai, and the Stuartian Loyalist factions are in negotiations. Our warships have been repositioned to prevent actions by outsiders and rebel factions from disrupting trade; the rampant fearmongering you indulge in is nothing more than a smokescreen.

One can stamp ones feet and declare one a 'provincial', but this does not trouble the Corsair Republic or it's people. These scare tactics and complaints amount to nothing: The chaos in the Stuartian space is what it driving off trade. Once it is resolved, things will recover. Your precious bottom lines and merchant princes will have to suffer for the meantime, while we ensure an end to the current dileema that does not involve bombadment.

Only about two hours after the three fleets had left, Task Force 10 dropped from hyperspace on the outskirts of known Stuart space. After some deliberation from the CSDF command, they decided to dispatch several fast escorts and a diplomatic team to Avalon. Mulling... Mulling... Allright. but we also get one squadron of your fighters for testing and other scientific ventures, surely you can part with a squadron? (im speaking of 12 fighters) Remember you would be getting our shield tech, which would radically improve yours.
