The new ST V SW at startrek.com

Post by Glimmervoid »

I just posted this to replace the 120 page monster thread over at startrek.com do you think the idoit pro-trek side will notice that i just eliminated there lastest arguments from the original thread. That of Q and time travle.

"The existing startrek V starwars topic is getting far to big to handle so hear is a new one.

The scenario.

For the purposes of this we will assume that Q always tells the truth and so is omnipotent.

Q is board one day and so decided to create 60 new stars in the space between galaxies. All these stars have at least 1 habitable planet. And the planets that are not M class will be rich in resources. Now Q then takes 15 federation worlds and 15 imperial worlds and puts them at either end of the new stars. Like this. One third of the Neutral M class worlds have intelligent life all pre-industrial.

Were F is a federation system, N a neutral system and E an empire system (each letter is 5 systems).

F N N N N E
F N N N N E
F N N N N E

Now Q tell the leaders of the transported empire and federation worlds that he taken them out side time and the winner of this contest will be given rule over both the galaxies. Now we take both races from there height. The federation from just after nemesis and the empire from just befor the destruction of the second deathstar.

The empire dose not have any super weapons with them but the planets have everything they normally have and if you can prove they could build a super weapons they can the same goes for the federation planets. Each of the starting planets also comes with a ship.

The federation has 5 sovereign class ships, 3 Prometheus class, 3 intrepid class, 2 defiant class and 2 nova class science vessels.

The imperials start with 5 ISD, 1 SSD, 2 Leviathan, 5 Dreadnought heavy cruisers, and 2 science vessels that are assumed to be falcons with slower hyperdrives.

The 15 starting planets are assumed to be developed to the normal level for each galaxy and the empires and federations “capital” planets are assumed to be developed to a state like coraskant and earth respectively. With all there real counterparts have both on the ground and in orbit (all other planets only have ground and a few surface to space intersystem craft).

The winner is the person to control or have rendered inhabitable ¾ of the opponents planets (this will include the colonised of the neutral planets) which must include the opponents capital planet."

The Empire instantly capitulates in order to try and get federation aid in feeding its people. Coruscant requires hundreds of planets to even feed its population.

I added that to the realy thread thanks. But the fedaration 15 worlds would not help much.

Here's what I'd do...

Step 1: As soon as the scenario gets underway, send an ISD to one of the neutral planets near the Fed planets, and another three to the actual Fed planets.
Step 2: Contact the Federation leaders and demand that they surrender, or else you will BDZ the neutral planet.
Step 3: If the Feds don't surrender, carry out the BDZ - or at least enough of one to cause a mass-extinction - while transmitting images of it to all three Fed planets.
Step 4: Tell the Fed leaders that the same will happen to them unless they offer an unconditional surrender within, say... five minutes. The BDZs will also happen if the Feds try to attack the ISDs.

Check and Mate! :P

It'll be interesting to see what gets posted in the thread. BTW, could we have a link to it, please?

Yup, the laser argument gets dredged up every single time.

so.. if i'd let them choose between a small laser pointer aimed at their crouch or a heavy industrial laser, they'd say it doesnt matter because the laserpointer cant hurt them? Interesting :P

And Picard said so! Nyah! Pfbbbbbbbt! ;)

I'm waiting for one of them to volunteer for a demonstration in which a bulletproof vest can take a shot from a .22 Ruger, and see how confident they are that this also makes them impervious to a shot from a Barrett Light Fifty.

Omg, i went to that message board for the first time---i never realized how they sound like big crybabies, pulling that stuff from thier ass....especially that DMJII guy....

The reason i like this site is for its explanations, not the pull-out-of-our-ass stuff these guys are doing...i mean for god sakes:
Oh please if he sticks to the same old warsie arguments then I own his @ss, just like we did in here to all of these warsies. And then again if he tries to use some BS numbers and equations to attempt to prove himself, then he is just as stupid as I thought. My argument still stands, there is no way to put real life numbers to a movie that is computer generated, and on things that have never happened, or will ever happen (ie. the DS & Alderaan) There is no way to determine that. If that moron believes that then, then he should be able to prove the Magic in Shrek 2 actually happened as well.
Um....duh...all of the stuff in all other scifis havent happened either....unless the damn ROOMBAS ARE CYLONS!!!!!!!

ahem anyway, just the tone of this guy is crybabyish, which kinda pisses me off but anyway, i ramble on....

This may be spam, but i wanted to say what i felt about this thread, so mods if you want to trash it, go ahead :P

No what would happen is you would Spam the man that posted it because there was a post on that topic before and then everyone would get re-dragged in to the topic.

PS I know I said removing their time travel and Q arguments but I still say they would be useless I just could not be bothered listening to them anymore.

DMJII (a.k.a. DMJay) is impossible to argue with. He ignores everything he doesn't like, thinks his opinion is canon, declares everything that helps your position is not canon and generally acts like an ass. I'd say he's about 12 years old.
"everytime a person is born the Earth weighs just a little more."--DMJ on StarTrek.com
"You see now you are using your thinking and that is not a good thing!" DMJay on StarTrek.com

"Watching Sarli argue with Vympel, Stas, Schatten and the others is as bizarre as the idea of the 40-year-old Virgin telling Hugh Hefner that Hef knows nothing about pussy, and that he is the expert."--Elfdart

Some Thoughts on DMJay

I was bemoaning the absence of intelligent fandom to a good friend (with whom I have worked on science-fiction conventions before). DMJay/DMJII is a stellar example of this.

Even when the make-believe numbers come from the Trek side of the street, (i.e. Okuda's Technical Manual and/or the Star Trek Encyclopedia), they brush them aside as unimportant.

When they fail on a factual basis (frequently), it always comes down to:

- You're being mean.
- It's all make-believe, and you're being mean.
- I don't have all the fancy references you do, and you're being mean.
- I own your a$$, because I said so, and you're being mean.
- (DMJay only) I'm a real soldier and you should shut up because that gives me some kind of authority I don't understand but shut up anyway, I own your warsie ass, and you're being mean.
