What would you prefer to be living inside? A high end Starfleet vessel or some sort of Imperial ship.

No Civilian ships, thats kinda cheating ;)

The Empire's cooler, but in terms of sheer creature comforts I would much rather be on a Starfleet vessel if I had to be limited to non-civilian transportation (particularly if the Starfleet vessel was a GCS, since it has the holodeck, a bar, etc).

If civilian vessels were allowed though, there'd be something to match it in the Empire. Can't remember the name of the ship (in the Thrawn trilogy), but there's a giant underwater casino that has just about any luxury someone would want (I know it's not a starship, but the technology for giant mobile spas is there).

Hmmmm..... Imperial ship. Nothing like Teraton-range guns to keep you safe at night. After all, who'd want to life in a flying deathtrap, with a warp core that detonates when sneezed on?
Why wonder why? The answer is simple: obviously, someone somewhere decided that he or she needed Baby Jesus up the ass.

Addendum (can't edit posts in this area): I think the submarine casino is the Coral Vanda or something like that.

Depends. If you're going by creature comforts than you'll have a hard time pulling me out of the holodeck or away from the food replicators. If you're going by travel time then it'd be a lot nicer with Hyperdrive. I was thinking still that since the Starfleet ships don't have booze on hand then I might consider the Imperial ship, but who needs liquor when you can have a never ending jacuzzi party with the girls of Victorias secret.

I don't know... The potential for one of those Victorias Secret girls to spontaneously decide to go renegade and attempt kill your ass dead makes me a bit warry of holodecks.

Holodecks would fucking rule. Imagine the possibilities. Although the holodeck's tendency to kill people in horrible ways would make me nervous.

That's why most of us would choose the later flight of GCS.

Holose..dek :) ehh, I want some ice time-ship (of course fed one) - what is better then replicating big amount of gold and going with gifts t cleopatra :) or to ancient rome to buy some nice girls :)

BTW - the guys who want Imps because of weapons. In GE all have such weapons :) So, I would prefer Federation (after borg and dominion and shinzon etc)- at least noone would shoot at you :)

Empire all the way. I can get boose, women, and entertainment easily enough without needing technobabble holodecks. If I need food, I can go out and bring home the bacon. Just need to cook it....
Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.

Yet what he creates tends to be total shit. Example: Ode to Spot.
Purely subjective. Believe it or not, there are people who like that poem.
There are people who like to eat shit too. Those people are idiots.- Darth Servo and Bounty.

Dude, in the Federation I can have any food I ever want any time I want. I could eat Domino's Pizza for lunch, poptarts for breakfast and Greko's for dinner everyfucking night if I wanted to, with coke on the side.

Whenever I needed to get off, I'd spend an evening on the holodeck with 10 hot fucking girls and fuck their brains out. I could pretend to be some magical hero and kill orcs and shit. I could go to Risa and bathe in the glory.

Besides, technically I could live in a Wells-class Timeship according to theb OP, so that means no more Borg or Dominion and probably teraton-level weaponry too. That would totally pwn, since I could go back in time to the now to talk to my family, and then become the Holy God-Emperor of Terra, and no one would opposae me because I would bring holodecks and replicators! Sweetness!

The choice is obvious.

Military regimen or luxury hotel. Since I'm a skinny 130 pound weakling, I choose the latter. With a holodeck I could never get bored.

He is opperating under the false impression that warp cores are massively unstable and explode all the time. DS9 put this myth to rest.

Federation, definately. A GCS has a bar, a gym, holodecks, and I bet there's a stash of Romulan Ale somewhere.

Federation Timeship all the way, Just to steal from NU-A.

Here is a brief list of my programs I would have:

Places I'd like to visit - Tour the galaxy from my holodeck.

Stories and Adventures - Here would be movies and other tales I would insert myself into.

People I'd like to meet - From the famous to the heroic, it would be like a walking, talking wax museum. Creepy but cool.

People I'd like to kill - Come on, who wouldn't do this? It's just a program  Okay, kick their ass, if you don't want to off the SOB.

People I'd like to Pork - Nuff said.

Too bad a human lifetime is too short to experience all the pleasures a holodeck can offer on a Federation ship. I wonder if the people on a Timeship still age?

Only the pre-War GCS seems to have the warp core instability problems; whatever the problem was, they did eventually repair it.

Why does everyone assume that replicated food is something to consider a luxury? I'll put a real galley on my ship, thanks.

TMP ships had galleys, despite the fact that basic replicators already existed. Since the GCS was built to be as comfortable as possible, it's likely it has a "real" kitchen, too.

The Intrepid had one too, so it's safe to say that they're standard. Why they would be made, I can't imagine.
