Star Wars stories should be made into a tv series....

Post by Assassin X »

Recently me and a friend (whos a member here) discussed the future of Star Trek and then i mentioned wouldnt it be great of Star Wars went on Tv?

We all know Star Trek for instance has been a TV thing and done some movies and some games.

Star Wars did the movies and did games and then took over the world more then trek did (i love them both by the way!).

Wouldnt Star Wars make a great series? All the novels? All the chareceters? Information? Theres just so much stuff out there you can have series and scripts that could go on for years and years and years! I mean i dont know if it would go on Cable or something like regular tv(NBC,CBS...etc) but that would be another accomplishment for George Lucas(or whoever did it but still Lucas too) and the fans would love it!

I just finished rereading The Corellian Trilogy and that was make a great series! A really long one but a great one non the less.

Heck they could always make movies with all this stuff they have around!

What do you all think?

There are several TV shows in the planning stages right now, a Live-Action and an animated show. The LA show is scheduled for Fall 2006.

You can find recent interviews where Lucas mentions it.

The only things known is that the LA show will take place between ROTS and ANH, Lucas will be producing everything and he´ll find someone to take control over it. Maybe even get some established sci-fi writers to go at the scripts and such.

The animated show is completely uncertain. One possible prospect is Han & Chewie´s adventures before ANH, but that was just a wish from one of the guys behind the CW cartoon.

That´s basically it. Personally, I´m betting it will all be done in-house at Lucasfilm, and then selling the airing rights to some studio.

There will possibly be DVD stories as well. And more games alá KOTOR.

I´d like to think that, at the end of the day, Lucas is smarter than that. :P

I'm frankly getting sick and tired of people saying "as long as it's not B&B". EVERYONE fucking says that...

Glove of Darth Vader: The Series

Starring Keanu Reeves as Trioculous/Triclops.

Or maybe an animated show about a dysfunctional nuclear family, The Binkses!

According to a reporter for USA Today that spoke to George Lucas at the Oscars, Lucas said that the TV show will take place between ROTS and ANH:

Well think of it this way.

Some people say it an mean Berman and Braga while other people say it an mean Braga and Berman.

Personally, I think Berman, Braga and Lucas could be very interesting. Everyone would be waiting for this massive train wreck and instead might find themselves pleasantly suprised. and monkeys might fly out of my butt.

Now as long as they don't hire Devlin and Emmerich. :D

(although, their Centropolis logo is cooler than the one for Lucasfilm).

I'd like to see them turn the Dark Horse comic of Darth Maul into a few episodes of television but I guess that's in the wrong time frame.

Maybe they could do the part where Darth Vader incounters a reserected clone of Darth Maul but I thought that story was a little lame.

I don't want there to be a TV show, what if it sucks? Like the Holiday Special? I guess if it rocks that would be cool, and if we see lots of planets get blowed up. But still.

Although I must confess to thinking that Aaron Allston's Wraith Squadron series wouldn't make for bad programming.

The Jedi Scourge would be interesting. Vader going around slaughtering people. Maybe some of Palpatine's "hands", and a sith trainees that get killed.
