Would you go to SW-verse?

Post by Sir Sirius »

A magical pixie poofs in to existance right infront of you and makes you and offer. If you wish the pixie will transport in to the Star Wars universe to the planet of your choice at a time of your choice, you have 1 hour to make your decision and get your things in order.

You can take with you what ever you can carry (except other people), but nothing more. This is a one time offer, say no and you'll never hear from the pixie again. The trip is one way, meaning that if you go you will not have a way of returning, ever.

Oh, and just so that there are no misunderstandings, the pixie will simply transport you as you are, it will not teach you basic, make you a Jedi, give you a blaster or a billion gredits or anything like that.

So, do you go and if yes, where will go to and at what time?

Possibly in the last 100 year of the Old Republic, not a criminal maybe a bounty hunter.

Wouldnt it better then to begin in the Outer Rim and work inwards? More prey in the Rim.

It might not be perfect or desirable, it still has spaceships :D

I'd opt for Alderaan or Naboo a safe time distance away from TPM :)

i'd bring a ton of modern day artifacts, including guns and bullets. i'd sell'em as antiques, and make a huge profit. and i'd shoot a Jedi just for the hell of it. "Dodge this you ass-sucking Celibate!" with a parting "ha ha! your order's declining!"

time: clone wars
place: geonosis

i'd sell guns to Dooku, as an easy way of killing Jedi.

too dangerous? big deal, for a chance like that you'd learn how to adapt I'd say. I don't think I could possibly pass up the chance to eventually own my own spaceship say like the falcon, that would be pretty cool.

I know people always say they want to do something exciting before they die. What could be more exciting then that? At least for me, nothing.

But knowing my luck I would end up living with the Ewoks without having the chance to go anywhere else.

Not without the basic knowledge that i'll need to survive. The OP stated that the Pixie will not teach you basic and i doubt anyone in the SW universe speaks English.

Where I given the basic education i'd need to survive i'd go for it in a heart beat. I'd ask it to send me to Kuat, i've got good administration skills which would serve me well and i'd get to see whole Fleets up close without the danger of being shot to hell.

What timeperiod?

During the OldRepublic there were no fleets.
Empire: Rebels attack Kuat.
New Republic: Empire and Pirates attack.
NJO: The Kuat shipyards is destroyed.

Incorrect. The Old Republic had a vast standing navy, and was totally imunne to external attack. The navy, like so many things, had been allowed to decline by the movie era, but the prologue of the ANH novel talks about the invunlnerability of the Galactic Republic to all other powers and factions known to exist.

What exist outside of the Old Republic? The Hapans? The Hutt?

Any known alien threats from Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. A more attesting fact to the generally strong and powerful military of the Galactic Republic is that law and order and stability was mostly maintained for over twenty-five thousand millienia.

The prologue in question.
Another galaxy, another time.
The Old Republic was the Republic of legend, greater than distance or time. No need to note where it was or whence it came, only to know that... it was the Republic.
Once under the wise rule of the Senate and the protection of the Jedi Knights, the Republic throve and grew. But as often happens when wealth and power pass beyond the admirable and attain the awesome, then appear those evil ones who have greed to matchin.
So it was with the Republic at its height. Like the greatest of trees, able to withstand any external attack, the Republic rotted from within though the danger was not visible from outside.
Aided and abetted by restless power-hungry individuals within the government, and the massive organs of commerce, the ambitious Senator Palpatine caused himself to be elected President of the Republic.
It gets interesting from this point on, as you can see how much Lucas has changed his mind since then:
He promised to reunite the disaffected among the people and to restore the remembered glory of the Republic.
Once secure in office he declared himself Emperor, shutting himself away from the populace. Soon he was controlled by the very assistants and boot lickers he had appointed to high office and the cries of the people for justice did not reach his ears.
Having exterminated through tretchers and deception the Jedi Knights, guardians of justice in the galaxy, the Imperial governors and beueaucrats prepared to institute a reign of terror among the disheatened worlds of the galaxy. Many used the imperial forces and the name of the increasingly isolated Emperor to further their own personal ambitions.
A fascinating alternate Palpatine...
