Wait (I skipped Titanic), didn't one of the two lovers die in that movie?

If so, could that mean Padme will die onscreen and not off?

Whoohoo!

No. No, no, NO. We do not need another competitor for 'Most overhyped movie in the history of film'. He'd better not have crammed in more crappy pseudo-romantic bullshit.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Though seriously... "I'm swimming Jack, I'm swimming!" At least there was death among the annoying main characters in that movie, but not enough to redeem it.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

The trailer got my hopes up and now this shows up. Lovely. Anybody think there's a chance he's just trying to draw in more people? "If you liked Titanic, you'll love this!"

So ROTS will be told from the point of view of an elderly Padme recalling the story of her brief ill-fated romance with Anakin (whom she thinks dies) in a massive flashback, with a crappy ineffectual snob she's engaged to who of course turns out to be an evil jerk to justify her fooling around with the poor pretty boy character, to a bunch of scientists investigating some ruins?

And she's wearing the Kyber Crystal around her neck while he sketches her nude?

No wonder this is going to be PG-13. Good luck George!

Well he's convinced me, and I was one of the few people who still like Titanic.

Jesus people, calm down. He said it was going to be like Titanic not identical. A more emotional film is the exact thing he's said about ESB. I doubt it will be a "tearjerker" but its not going to be a happy film with the fall of Anakin Skywalker, the Republic and the Jedi, and the rise of the Sith and the Empire.

And people wonder why I am pessimistic. Of course, I am going to see it. And I really want to be astounded by how good it is. I much prefer a pleasant surprise to a dissapointment.

No shit. Even though it wasn't the greatest movie, I'm failing to see why people are wound up by an analogy such as this.

Holy cow, you people need to relax. Lucas drew the comparison for emotional evocation purposes: Titanic drew strong crowd emotional reaction, and he expects ROTS to be similarly tear-jerking. That's what he's talking about.

As long as Celine Dion isn't singing to the end-credits.

Ha! I remember creating this rumor with my buds around here for AOTC for kicks, just after the rumors of NSync being cast as Jedi. My buds went apeshit.

Eh...so he wants to have more kissy face and tear jerking. Honestly I figure he's using an analogy.

While his last two have failed to impress or endure upon me...I doubt he's going to go;

"Anakin!!"

"...Rose!...I mean Padme!"

It still bewilders me why alll of you are taking this to be a serious issue. He's just using it as a metaphor, in the same sense that Avi Arad claimed that the Sub-Mariner movie would be 'Star Wars under water'. He's just using the sense of scale which that movie had in terms of visual effect to make a point. A bad likening to, yes, but come on...
They told me there was nothing out there, nothing but fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something, and I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows, and there is something out there in the darkness...something terrifying, something that will not stop until it has revenge.
