Timepsplitters 2
Red faction 2

Two very very fun FPS.

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is good. (At least on pc)

as is:

Star Trek: Shatter Empires.

It basically you in a fight repalying a dozen very cool TOS scenarios.

eg) The Doomsday Machine. Fighting Balok, the Tholian Web.

The two Star War fighter games are good: Starfighter & Jedi Starfighter and tie in with EpsI and II vaguely. (Does any one know if their doing one for RotS?)

There's also Mercenaries, I've got it for my X-Box, but it's on PS2 as well.

There are a couple of RPG's, personally I wasn't impressed with Breath of Fire:Dragon Quarters, but Arc:Twilight of the Spirits is meant to be good, but I haven't played it. Legiaa 2:Duel Saga is reasonable, if not marvellous, if you can get it cheap, get it.

Not recommended at all is Unlimited Saga.

Although to elaborate on an earlier point, not ALL PS1 games are $15 and under, if you want some of the older stuff like Suikoden, just look at Ebay.
Don't Move you're surrounded by Armed Bastards - Gene Hunt's attempt at Diplomacy

I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own - Number 6

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Nothing beats saving on the bridge of Voyager, putting on god mode and giving myself all weapons and 999 health and 999 shields, pulling out my rifle and vaporizing Janeway, then diving for cover as everyone on the bridge goes insane.

Sometimes it feels good just to riddle her head with repeated shots instead of vaporizing her, too.

You got Ratchet and Jak II? Get part III(Jak III and Up Your Arsenal). The originals aren't that bad, either.

Burnout 3

Zone of the Enders: the 2nd Runner -- A fast-paced Zero-G Mech combat game.

Katamari Damacy -- One of the wierdest games in history(that can be considered great, anyway). It starts off cheap as is.

God of War -- This game's not gonna be out till around the end of the week, but what I've seen of it redefines the term "Hardcore". When one of the minigames involves your hero pleasuring two women at once, you know you're dealing with a badass.

Nippon Ichi's Tactical RPG's -- La Pucelle: Tactics, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and Phantom Brave. Good for those who like a little dose of cute with a bigger dose of humor.

Onimusha 3 -- Demons, Samurai, and Jean Reno kicking ass. 'nuff said.

Xenosaga episodes I and II.

Sleeper Hits: Not very popular, and I can't garuntee you'll like these, but I certainly did:

Ring of Red -- Alternate history Strategy game featuring Diesel-powered mechs.

R-Type Final -- Last iteration of the old-school shooter. Every ship that every existed in the series and then some(101 in total!).

Battle Engine Aquilia -- Lost Toys' vison definitely exceeded their ability to bring it to life in this game, but it's worth a rental at least, and it should be real cheap.

Beyond Good and Evil -- A multiplatform Sleeper Hit.

EA's MVP baseball series is excellent. It's up in the air whether NFL2k5 or Madden 2005 is better. I think the gameplay is more realistic in Madden, so I prefer it, but NFL2k5 beats it hands down on presentation.

IT'S Great, it's just a pity that you get brigged wether the phaser you to death or not. It'd be fun just to go on a rampage through out Voyager.

Unfortuantly load time between decks would mangae to kill the pace every time you jumped in a turbolift...

Not to mention the evil doctor of doom! On the first level you fight the Scavengers, where the holographic doctor is there to heal people, if you wipe out your team really quick the Doctor pulls out a phaser, and since he's a hologram your shots go right through him and he slaughters you.

Makes you wonder why they don't just send HIM into battle.

I'd definitely agree with Ring of Red. It's a brilliant low-tech take on the whole mecha deal, and the animations for when you blow enemy AFWs up, especally when you use John. 155mm cannons are always fun.

Beyond Good and Evil I agree with in principle, it's an absolutely fucking stunning game, but I'd say get the XBox version if at all possible. The PS2 version has a nasty tendency to drop frames when you're outside, reducing otherwise beautiful animation to a shudderfest.

Can't go wrong with Deus Ex: The Conspiracy.

Silent Hill 2 and 4 are also must-haves if you like the horror genre.

Kingdom Hearts is also worth it if you like Secret of Mana-style RPG's.

And like others have said, Devil May Cry is a classic. Dont know too much about 3 yet. I'll be picking it up in a day or two though and shall report on it.

Secconded!

Now, watching cartoon characters do their rediculous power ups, transformations and strange attacks you can't help but think that this is kind of stupid. Now, doing these moves yourself on the other hand...

God of War is the game to look out for from what I've heard. Looks pretty crazy.

Burn Out 3 is good too.

As others have said, DMC rocks. DMC2 is forgettable, but DMC3 is truly excellent, and has some of the most bad-ass cutscenes around.. that being said: PA link

I also second the reccomendations for Zone of the Enders, Ring of Red (No pussy jet engines or fusion reactors for these puppies :D ), and Nippon Ichi's tactics RPGS (SAMAS gives a list).

I also reccomend Monster Hunter if you've got a broadband connection. Singleplayer game doesn't last too long but the online play has consumed almost 500 hours of my life since I got it in September.

Do be aware though that Zone of the Enders is famous for being "That other disc that was in with the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo".

It's fun, but short and forgettable. The second is more of the same, but more so. There's also a Gameboy Advance game, which plays like a cut down version of Ring of Red.
