Those are all him? Interesting.....though not surprising....

And Glimmerwood, I assume your Elfwood right? (stupid question but yeah i wasnt sure)
Who do you think has worked so hard to get his stupid ass banned in the first place?
I did not try all that hard. :angelic:

clearly a morong that's never bothered doing a basic googling of how lasers actually work. direct him to this page.

In a sense he's right as color is light of a certain frequency that hit our eyes, but if mean he what I think he mean e.g. that laser is naturally "white" light he's either not taking or not enough of his meds since that must most stupid thing I have heard for some time LASERs are both Phase and Frerquency coherent (and IIRC something must frequency cohenrent in order it to be phase coherent).
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Lasers

As is his (DMJx) usual habit, he has taken limited examples and applied it selectively to his argument.

Since the only way you can see most laser 'beams' are from the light reflecting off particles - water droplets, dust - or shooting through or edgewise to a material - a sheet, a piece of glass with low refractive properties - there is no way the human eye can 'add color' to a laser. (Note that at concerts where they fire blue laser beams across the stage, etc., there is often smoke or mist involved ... or you can do the old trick of blowing talcum powder into the air and firing through it.)

That simply is not how they work, period, end of it. A prism splits light into the separate frequencies that we perceive as different colors; that is, those frequencies are already there.

These frequencies are detected by the cones and rods inside the human eye. There are no mental gymnastics that suddenly render a white page blue; pigment or other media to affect the quality of light reaching our eyes must be applied.

DMJx has shown he knows jack shit about lasers, and even less about the human eye. Given that, I can't say I have any confidence in his being a demolitions expert, as his observational skills are sorely lacking.

This was in response to weather a laser is in fact invisible (I was saying the description of an invisible energy beam in ICS cant be a laser because a laser can be seen from the front. So his argument about adding colour meant that humans took this totally invisible laser and added colour some how to it so it would be visible to us.

Light is not paint. The only way to add color is to pass said light through media such as a lighting gel, or a prism. You could, I suppose, have two beams intersect, but any resulting 'color' would not truly be a property of the invisible beam.

I'd like to see DMJx 'add color' to a beam of light. I really would.

No matter how you slice him, he comes out baloney.

With apologies to the authors of 1776 ...

On a side note, is Mustard Gas considered a WMD?

I believe that, yes, it is technically considered to be a weapon of mass destruction. As I understand it, if it's a chemical, biological, nuclear or radiological weapon, it's considered to be a WMD.

OK. I thought it had to have a certain area of effect too.

It looks like any threads containing posts from DMJay and DMJII are gone. Too bad. I wanted to archive all that.

DMJ2 is still around. Let's see how long it takes for him to piss off the ST.com admins again.

Including the main one that was over 180 pages? You wanted to archive ALL that? Do you enjoy collecting trekkie stupidity or something?

No, it's just that I wanted to have some ammunition in case he changed any of his stories concerning his military background.

I gave it a shot, and frankly the appalling ignorance that he displayed during the little exchange showed pretty well that the fucker had no real military experience whatsoever, at best he was part of the local paintball militia.

I think I remember that. Was that where his response was just to say Finland's military sucked?

Its DMJay. Don't ask. He makes up all kind of shit, is the master of the strawman attack and has repeatedly demonstrated that he doesn't even know the difference between 'all', 'some' and 'none'
