I have an Ipod now, so I was wanting some help finding some good work out songs. I have some stuff like 'Eye of the Tiger,' the "Superman" theme on there, but what else should I put on it?

Anyone?

Classical and weight lifting? Movie scores maybe, like Superman, but I was thinking more along the lines of 'Eye of the Tiger."

I find Jimi Hendrix tunes work pretty well. They have a nice groove and I can just lose myself in the music while doing my workout. Any CD by The Ramones is pretty good too, it has a nice fast pace and that classic punk rock sound that makes me happy & pumped up.

Well, I personally like to work out to the theme music of "Terminator 2", particularily the "Trust Me" segment. Several other non Terminator themes as well I like listening to, usually some type of underlying "power" context to them.

Lemme know if you want any Supes, I got a bunch you might like (I enjoy the Superman theme as well).

I second the Rammstein motion. When I go to the gym (it's working, Supes! It's working!), it's what I listen to -- their new album "Reise Reise" is fantastic.

Rammstein would be a good idea, because there's little variation in their industrial metal style so it'll keep you going to a good rhythm. Personally, I'd also get some Chemical Brothers on there, from the "Come With Us" album, and some "Music for the Jilted Generation" from Prodigy. Chimaira's "Impossibility of reason" has some great riffing and song structure that's catchy and repetitive enough to listen to while keeping rhythm.

Oh, oh oh! BONGZILLA! Seriously, sure, every single song is about weed, but the sludge is just sooooo good! Speaking of sludge, you might like corrosion of conformity's "deliverance" album, good repetition, and lyrics I'm sure you'd get a kick out of.

Entombed's "Wolverine Blues" album has some of the good old sludgy rocky side of rebellion and perseverence that would be good for working out, i guess.

Actually, I found Nine Inch Nails to be good listening material while welding, not sure about working out, but may as well give it ago. Pretty Hate Machine is probably their best one.

Rob Zombie, you know about him already, his cousin's the lead singer in Powerman 5000, whom you may also like.

A bit of the ol' Sepulturua never hurt anyone.

Aside from that, Garbage (Got the new album so it's a bit of an obsession as of late), Crossfade, Disturbed, Godsmack...I think you can see where I'm going with this.

Anyway, for tunes to work out to, I've got some good ones:

Van Halen's "Eruption" and "You Really Got Me"

Metallica's "Whiskey in the Jar" from "Garage, Inc." is remarkably good for cardio, but if you're looking for lifting tunes, try "Battery" and "Hit the Lights."

And for a while, when I was training for distance running (a short-lived venture) I was listening to Macy Gray's "I Try," not because I liked the song, but because the rhythm of it fell perfectly in line with my heel strikes.
