What would (literally) happen if the SW met ST

i'm sure we've decided that in a millitary (and some other) situation that SW could beat ST. (understatment)

but i'm just curious what would actually happen if a worm hole was suddenly openned up between SW universe and ST universe. lets assume that the wormhole openned pretty close to the core worlds and also pretty close to the federation. and both universes are completely aware of this.

well what do you think would happen

As an excuse the keep the military strong and itching for new worlds to conquer, the Empire sends a massive force through the wormhole to take over the Milky Way.

Why would they need an excuse? Is the Emperor still accountable to the people?

Depends on a lot of different factors. It just says SW so I don't see why we have to assume it's the Empire. If it's the OR or NR they'd probably just open the Trekverse to colonization and trade and some corporations would make a killing selling Wars tech to the various Trek species. Unless some Trekverse power is stupid enough to attack Republic, which I doubt (even the Borg probably won't fuck with them when they get a look at their firepower).
If it's the Empire there'd be a good possibility they'd launch a war of conquest. Nothing keeps the public's mind of its stomach like a nice easy victory over a foe that has no hope in hell of defeating you. Obviously we all know how that would go. If it's during the later years of the Empire Palpatine may decide he wants to crush the Rebels first before taking on this whole other galaxy. Of course, the Trekverse would be on his hit list: it just wouldn't be like him to not want to be the master of all he surveys. But maybe if they get lucky he'll take that long fall down the Death Star ventilation shaft before he gets around to moving against them.

After Wars conquers Trek, Wars technology will sooner or later falls in to the hands of Trek races and with their new added tech, they will make more resistance, start building not so crappy Fed ships that might actually match at least SW frigates and light cruisers in firepower.

If the Empire crumbles New Republic might offer Trek races technology and the reformation of the Federation, the Borg are most likely extinct or at least damaged beyond repair thanks to the Empire, and the Feds influence will increase through the Milky Way, becoming the new Super power that might match the NR and NR might have a powerful ally.

If it's OR or NR nothing happens. Well, diplomats will be send, if force work in ST, probably Jedi will open a temple or something.

If it's GE than... hmmm, depends on vs debater (there are some that believ that ST win

) but probably there will be war. Perhaps not long one, and Palpi wont conquer ST Milky Way - just take what tech he found usefull (knowing his love for superweapons I think there will be a quite big hunt for all those super-toys of ST), but as there is nothing usefull in ST - no conquer.
At least not until he have whole SW galaxy in his hands.

The only problem for GE are all those super-beigns and races in ST that are treating humanity as their puppys and may not be happy about some old idiot trying to harm them

I'd disagree with that last bit. Palpatine is a power-hungry megalomaniac who will not settle for being anything less than the master of all he surveys. He may not choose to invade immediately but he'll get around to it in time (providing he doesn't blow up with the DSII first).

i had a good thought about this.

GE not to hard to think about.the emperor would probably ask a small task fleet to anihalate the entire federation.

but if its OR NR my assumtion would be that some independent organisation/company (eg Trade fed, hutts, gungans, ewoks) would probably try (and possiblty will) conquering ST universe, in the name of a "financial expedition". while thats happening the senate would prbably sit around and talk about it but generally do nothing.

I think that it was the NR, they would probably offer entry into the Republic provided they follow the rules (obviously). The Feds would have to be absolutely insane to reject it. Diplomatic, trade and educational ties would ensue, thereby raising the standard of living in the Federation to previously unheard of levels. The Jedi would begin searching for new adepts and probably request enclaves on the major homeworlds. Earth might accept after some controversy due to the fact that they have quashed any form of religion, but I think that ultimately they would. The Romulans would leap at the chance so as not to lose an opportunity. The Klingons would reject them. I dont know what anyone else would do as I haven't watched an episode of Trek since the Voyager pilot. The Borg would be crushed due to the risk of keeping them around, as well as from pressure from the Jedi's who would probably view them as tortured abominations who should be put down. Other than that, I dont think a whole lot else. After 100 years or so, you wouldnt even know there was a difference.
